    Hello Everyone.

I have posted this in the Australian forum aswell. My hope is that someone in the 365/400/412 'community' with the parts will see this message.

I am after a Clutch Cable for a 1980 Ferrari 400 GT. I took it out for a drive this morning, and It stretches so quickly, and I have virtually no clutch pedal after a 20klm drive. If anyone has one (or two) of these, and would like to offload them, or know where I can find such parts in Australia, I would appreciate it if you could let me know.

    Thanks, Andrew :)

Are you saying that the car drives normally after sitting for a while but that the clutch starts slipping after 20km or so on the road? If so, that sounds to me more like your clutch might need replacement as it starts to slip after it heats up with driving. I've never heard of a clutch cable that "stretches" and then shrinks back.

It just gets progressively worse. It has had a new clutch put in it in the last 3000mi, so I highly doubt there is a problem with it there. I think I have found someone with a new clutch cable, so I will see how it goes. I'll keep you updated.

....but I doubt that the cable is the source of your trouble.

In that case I would check the adjustment to make sure that is set up correctly.

    Good luck

    Cari colleghi !
