Hell yes! I would ride the tires off that thing...not sure It would be top on my list if I had 10k to drop.
F-in A I would. In a heartbeat. Electric bikes are frighteningly exciting. This one is next on the list. Same guys. http://www.brammo.com/empulse/ I live in the perfect area for one of these and it will be the next machine I buy. I am also hoping that a local facility goes under so I can buy the place for a all EV track.
I've got an electric bike - a Vectrix Scooter. God knows it has it's limitations, and the manufacturer has gone bust, but it's saving grace is that it is actually fun to ride. So yes, I'd be happy to give that a go!
Probably not. A huge safety bonus to motorcycles is their sound, without their sound, people wouldn't know you are there. I like the concept, but I have a feeling it's a bit more dangerous than a regular motorcycle due to the lack of noise. One of my professors rode the ZERO motorcycle, said it lacked something, someone mentioned noise and that was what it was missing.
Noise != Safe In the past maybe (50s -> 80s?) but now most people are deafened by their stereos, distracted by in-dash entertainment, or on their phone in their mobile apartments. People aren't going to pay attention no matter how loud you are. I ride a Duc with a open airbox, clutch, and a QuatD exhaust. It is deafening and people are still indifferent. I've observed that most turn into more of an ****** since MY noise is louder than theirs. In fact, windows roll up and they make attempts to pay less attention to what is around them. OK... Whew... I've been on the ZERO as well. Good start, but the street version needs to be a bit more "confident." I can see how it would be nice and loose on dirt.
Not sure when noice ever = safety. If that is how you ride, stay off the road. Don't ride in peoples blind spot would be a smater choice.
