I have been to maybe 50 games at Fenway and believe me, there are a TON of bad seats there. Paul...50 cents for a bleacher? On Opening Day, 2005 when they raised the 2004 pennant flag and brought the trophy out for the first time since 1918, I was in the third row of the bleachers. For some reason the MLB schedulers had the Yankees in town. I paid a multiple of 50 cents for that spot in the bleachers....$ 550.00 to be exact. Almost equaled my beer tab at the Baseball Tavern.
Keith, it's just the 50 cents in 1965 adjusted for inflation! BTW, as I recall it may have been either 1967 or '68 that they boosted the bleacher seats to $1. Outrageous!
EVERY Yankees game I've ever attended outside of N.Y. sounds that way! From Atlanta to Anaheim to Seattle, Yankees fans are everywhere!
Hmmm, letsee, head to South Beach to look at half-naked women, or pay thru the nose to watch crappy pro sports teams? Do the University of Miami Hurricanes sell out every game? I'd guess the cost of living in Miami is high, folks simply cannot (or will not) afford to pay high prices for a game of any kind? That's kind of misleading, they never had an NHL team, and they had an NBA team for only 6 years (77-83). The baseball team fell apart when Tony Gwynn retired (gotta blame it on someone, right?) And, the NFL... Do the fans REALLY care about having a new stadium? If you are a football fan do you ever base your attendance at any game on the stadium itself? Do you ever say 'I'd love to go to the xxxxx game, but the facility sucks so I won't go'? Me neither...
I did. I had money on the Pats that game (as I do on all Pats playoff games). Ask me if I was worried. Talk about easy money.
I'm NOT a Falcons fan AT ALL, actually I m not an Atlanta sports fan. But a 6-5 record in Super Bowls isnt that Good. That being said, I do feel Brady is the G.O.A.T.!
That’s true - but if you bet on NE for all of their playoff and Super Bowl games, you’d win a lot of money. I don’t bet on them because I like them or think they are great, I bet on them because they are the luckiest team in the history of the NFL AND because whenever they are about to lose the referees seem to come up with a phantom flag that saves their bacon. So, in other words, I’m not picking the Pats to win, I’m betting on Lady Luck and the referees....and it’s working like a charm
Boneheaded opposing coaching decisions (Seattle and Atlanta) and timely referee flag throwing has nothing to do with work ethic, which I’ve never questioned
The reason for the "boneheaded" coaching decisions is lack of preparation, pure and simple, i.e. they didn't put in the work. As far favoritism from the refs, Mike that's the most ridiculous assertion. It's well known Roger Goodell and the other 31 owners are after the Patriots at every turn. If there was any directive from the league office, it would not be to favor the Pats, and the refs know what side their bread is buttered on. Not to mention there's plenty of bad calls over the years that didn't go in the Pats favor. BTW, I frankly don't believe the refs have neither favored nor punished the Pats with their calls. I watch a lot of NFL football outside of the Pats games and I see lots of bad calls on both sides of the ball. I know there have been allegations of bias in the NFC championship game since most of the refs were from LA. I may be naive but I honestly think it was a typical screw up.
