    The rear roof pillar isn't right for a Cayenne. Not a Touareg either.

    Toyota 4-runner was my first assumption due to how the rear windows appear.

    that odd curve of the roof does cause it to resemble the mdx as well

    My guess is an Acura MDX. It is a tragedy that the driver was killed though. Sounds horrible.

    Indeed. Apparently the driver failed to stay on the road and struck a tree, causing the vehicle to ignite.

    Burned out SUV... I would have guessed a range rover without looking at pic. Odds would have been in my favor.

    You are right, and in spite of the way it looks in the photo I'm quite sure it is broken in half.
