I ordered the 1924 Bugatti type 35 by CMC in 1:18 Scale, which is supposed to ship some time in August. I was wondering is anyone knew when it would be available. Thanks!

Me three - except I refused to order it until I could get a conformed delivery date. It sure looked good in the pictures.

Well, now you have made me think...the last model I ordered from my supplier that was for "future delivery" took just about 10 MONTHS after they claimed availability. But, they did eventually get it to me. Not naming names, but they are one of the obvious mail order houses & based in Canada.

I had totally forgotten that I had bought and paid for it when it just showed up in the mail.

I think I may just have to call in and order one right now, as I don't want to miss out on this model.

There's a full page ad in the most recent Octane magazine claiming a "september" delivery, and a different, smaller ad claiming a "late summer" delivery. I think it's up to CMC, and I'm not sure the suppliers know when they're coming, or have much control over when they arrive.

Agreed. And, if they did not pre-advertise and pre-sell these things, there might not be enough capital to tool up for many of the unusual subjects.

I happened to stop by CMC in Rochester, NY yesterday while killing time before a flight. I didn't ask about the Bugatti since I'm not waiting for it but they did mention it. I believe he said the container would be there anytime or something like that. He had one display there. Maybe he said they just got it...I can't remember. Sorry if that wasn't helpful :)

We will have the Bugatti in stock by September 1 is what I'm told. As with the last few releases from CMC, the supply will be short for the first few months after the initital delivery. We still have a few available from our first shipment, if you pre-order with us we don't charge you until the day it ships.
I have received a sample from the factory, and it's just incredible!

The wheels and tyres on this modelcar is excactly as they are supposed to be on the 1924 "Lyon" Bugatti Type 35, which is the type that this modelcar is meant to resemble! An absolutely "MUST HAVE" for all true Bugatti fanatics like myself! :)

This car is not a plain Type 35, but a Type 35 B or a Type 35 C of a later date! These types were not available in 1924......note the wider radiator and the bigger brake drums compared to those on the modelcar! As a sidenote, the tyres on the car in the last picture looks to be slightly oversized, even for this later model! :)

Agree this model is a must have, and mine has been pre-ordered for months. With the dearth of quality Bug models in 1/18, this model will sell, and sell quickly.
Would suggest to folks moving quickly if you want one.

I am hoping CMC do more.

    You're welcome, ;)
This last picture actually shows the prototype (The very first) Type 35, clearly seen from the radiator which is not yet the perfect horseshoe shape! This car was driven by Ettore Bugatti himself to the 1924 Lyon GP, where the Type 35 had it's first outing! This car was not driven in the race BTW.!!!

The car is featured on the cover of the current Diecast Legends catalog I receive. It sounds interesting - steering wheel is wrapped with string; dashboard is machined aluminum; twin fuel caps unscrew; body screws are secured with steel wire; gearshift is movable; handbrake activates the rear brake - 926 parts in all. They are saying September delivery but subject to change.

Recieved notification today from Scale18 that mine had arrived and would be going out next week.
    Anyone else received theirs yet?

I hope this may be a great model of an underserved marque. I have the CMC SWB and F2 and have high expectations.
