    I'm kinda kicking around an idea, and a Mondial 8 without engine or tranny should be just about perfect for it. If I should find such a beast, what's the market on them these days?

    I'd say....

    Nice overall car just less eng/trans....$8-$10

    Roller with lots of missing stuff...under that.

    IMO, if you're thinking of an engine conversion, I'd find a cheapo complete car and sell the parts you don't need/want. If you could get a total car for $15 ish you'd probably come out the same in the end buy selling what you didn't want.

    Good luck and don't be affraid to post the project...some of us are interested in this sort of "deal." =)

    I agree; a running beater would be the easiest and cheapest deal. How many Mondials in good shape with no/blown engine do you see? Not a lot...in spite of the many belt threads!

    A car with a Ferrari engine is worth what the market will bear - A car without a Ferrari engine is not a Ferrari, but an assembly of body parts manufactured by a Ferrari supplier. In other words, a donor car.

    I would put the value of a motorless M8 at considerably lower than $8K-$10K. I would say sub-$5K.

    A Ferrari is a vin # tag. With that, you can build a car around it and call it a Ferrari.
