What is the small positive wire to battery?

    Hi Gents, another little question for you wiggly amp boffins out there...
    What is the small positive wire to positive battery terminal connector? I think it mabe the return from the alternator, but what I don't understand is that if I disconnect it from the positve battery connector, all the electrics on the car shut down including the engine even if the main battery terminals still attached.

    That's because the "main" battery cable only goes to the starter and alternator -- the smaller cable from the "+" battery terminal runs everything else.

    You can download a copy of the wiring diagram for your 1984 Mondial QV (either US or euro version) from www.ferraridatabase.com, The Downloads, Manuals-Other Manuals.
