I have heard they are having trouble selling them any insight to this?
Ahem, $1.5 used? 08 sold last week for less than $900k with 600 miles... After a few years, potential buyers are now able to see that it's at least a million dollar pill just waiting to be swallowed... no one likes that.
originally planned for ~300, no? the really amazing thing is that there have been five or six "limited edition" versions of this car....
I believe it is 300 Coupe and 150 Cabriolet (Gransport)... I think the reason they are selling (were selling?) are the limited edition which keeps the car in the radar. The Sang Noir looks ten times better than a regular Veyron if such a thing exists.
including or excluding auction costs? There's a few for sale on Jameslist as well, one for 850K Euro! Last I read was 245 cars made in total, including Gran sport. But that was 3-4 months ago. In total, 300 'normal' and 150 GS are supposed to be made. Unless they're accepting orders until 2013, I can't see them selling each and everyone. If I 'had' to get one, it would either have been completely black, with titanium hermes wheels or a 'bugatti' blue (the light blue) with titanium hermes wheels, bots coupe... Not that I'd really love to have one as they don't do much for me!
this 300 planned production reminds me of the Mc Laren F1 which supposedly expected to make 300 cars but they have a hard time selling only 100 back then when the F1 was a brand new car So I guess the Veyron is a clear winner already let's just wait till IT goes out of production and starts to be a collectible scarce car ....
was that the auction car in florida? if so, i'd put that price at a bit of a discount to current wholesale..... but overall i think there are too many of these made to be able to sustain a $1.5 million price forever...
doesn't it really depend on whether or not Ferdinand Piech continues to champion this little exercise, or if the board/accountants manage to veto him?
Veyron: March 2009: 250 ordered, nearly 200 delivered September 2009: over 250 sold, 215 delivered March 2010: 255 ordered, 230 delivered July 2010: 260 sold, 249 delivered Veyron Grand Sport: March 2010: 26 ordered, 9 delivered July 2010: 35 sold, 22 delivered "2009 was a difficult year"
I guess I meant aside from the Galibier based on the Mulsanne. Seems like the LP640 would be a good starting point for a 'down market' $400k car with more GT ride and amenities. Speaking of which, the local RR dealer has a pretty much bare lot these days, except for an odd lineup of new Dropheads and Phantom Coupes at $450k which have sat for a while. For RR, IMO they should have made the Ghost in 2008 instead of investing in the Drophead.
They can't go too far down market with Bugatti, Bentley is going up to the $450k price point and remember that the head of Bentley and Bugatti is the same guy. My guess that you will not see a Bugatti branded car under $600k. If they don't make the brand mass market (think Continental GT) and "ruin it", I can foresee them making niche cars that are made to get a lot of attention. Think how famous the Royale is, they made 6. Atlantic, just 4. Bugatti is the perfect brand to make a run of 50 or 100 cars.
