In his profile, he lists his interests as: "Scuba Diving, UW Photography, Competitive Rifle Shooting, Magic" Maybe some kind of underwater camera accessory that he might not have already? That might provide a boost of encouragement to get well soonest, so he can go out & use it. As for the Magic - is he serious about that? Perhaps some kind of essential biography on book or DVD about Houdini, or something on the history of modern magicians? Just throwin' some ideas out there. Count me in for chipping in a little bit towards something.
Maybe it sounds chintzy but we could pool $$ and get him an Amazon.com gift cert - they deliver to APO addresses and he could pick anything he wants - they have lots of UW Photography and Scuba stuff, and magic related stuff too. I just think it would be cool for the guy to get something to lift his spirits and know we're all thinking about him.
I'm down for whatev. I think a video of Criss Angel shooting Chas from a mile away underwater might be the way to go, though.
If you guys need any logistics help on the ground here, I'm at your service! btw, it might be a bad idea to talk about a present in a thread that's sticky for him to see
I was thinking we should delete the comments before he comes back Does someone have PayPal and is willing to take point on collecting donations for a present?
Someone send Daniel a note... surely he has paypal, and is used to shipping stuff every where and any where.... and maybe Mark has a Wish List with him or something. Mike
All, THANK YOU so very much for the well wishes. That is all I could ever hope for. I tried to go to the other side a couple of times but just couldn´t cross that bridge. Glad I didn´t. I have been home for a few days but too weak and still drugged-up to do ANYTHING except read a few threads here and there before going back to sleep. I had the by-pass done on the economy at a clinic in Regensburg that specializes in heart/lung. Supposedly one of the very best in Europe. They do about 25 of them a week. Headed off to REHAB on Monday for a few weeks and then I should be in pretty good shape. But I will be off the net during that time so please just hang tight. Slowly getting my taste back. Everything has pretty much gone from a horrific mud taste to cardboard which is tollerable; the mud was not. If people are interested I´ll share some of my coma experiences when I return from REHAB; it was a wild and very unfun ride but may be of interest to some here. THANX Again for the Well Wishes and I´ll be back in the saddle soon. Sylvia Thanks you all as well and greatly appreciates the outpouring of interest and concern. This ordeal has been as hard on her or harder than it has on me. I had the easy job, I just had to lay there. I tip my hat to Mike as I could not ask for a better Friend, On-line or otherwise. 'See' you all soon. Respectuflly, Mark
It's so very good to see you back! Glad to hear you're making progress. No goosing the pretty rehab therapists You'll be back on the road in no time.
My nomination for POST OF THE YEAR!! ^^^^^^ Simply because Mark could MAKE the post himself. Welcome back my friend, glad to see you able to get here. I hope everything else goes extremely smoothly from this point forward. PDG
Meh... what a drama queen! It's so good to hear you're back! Having gone through open heart surgery myself, if you have any questions, just PM me. Take care of yourself!!!!
You had us very worried. I, for one, am very glad you're such a tough SOB. Welcome back, take care, and don't over exert yourself.
If you came back because you thought Army was gonna beat Navy, think again. Please update us when you can about what it is like coming out of the deep freeze. Dale
Thrilled to hear things are looking up in such a way, that's great! Hopefully he continues to pull through strong!
Welcome back. Dont want to come off as grisly but I for one am fascinated by near death / coma experiences. When your up to it please share.
Dude... Very good to see you posting here again. Makes my day. Maybe you had one of those inexplicable transformations during your coma where you saw the light and you're now a liberal. Seriously though. Welcome back. All the best to you. We all wish you a very speedy recovery. - Chris
