All, I just got off the phone with Mark's wife, Sylvia, and she related the following, and gave me permission to let everyone know what's going on with Mark. As you may recall, Mark went in for bypass surgery just over two weeks ago (he mentioned on the board before the operation). After the surgery, he developed pneumonia. The doctors have had him in an induced coma for 16 days now. Sylvia says that things are looking up. He had a total of 3 bypasses performed, and the doctors say they have finally found which of the many antibiotics he will respond to, and are starting to reduce the medication that causes the coma. She said his heart is strong, and that the prognosis is mixed, but she's confident that he will pull out of it. I have asked her to let me know when Mark is up and around, so I can call him.... and will call Mrs. MWR4440 in three or four days to check on Mark again. Thoughts and prayers... and wishing Mark a quick recovery.... Mike
Than you very much for the update. We will most certainly keep Mark in our thoughts and prayers. Bill & Kristy
I will Dave.... by the way, to give credit where credit is due, Chas (GuyIncognito) PM'ed me a couple of days ago asking if I knew Mark's status, pointing out that he hadn't been on the board lately, and reminding me that he'd said he was going under the knife again. I tried to call then, but Sylvia said she decided not to answer when she didn't recognize the number. So, I sent him a couple of emails, but obviously he's not awake to get them... so, I thought I'd call again, and she answered. Thanks again, Chas, for the reminder. Mike
We are pulling for you Mark. Good news is he will be fine. In the good old days, no telling what would have happened. Taz Terry Phillips
FerrariChat is NOT "just the Internet." Lots of good folks here and I'm proud to be a member. We are praying for ya, buddy.
Terrible, I hope Mark will be better soon... best wishes to him and his family! Mike, you might want to save this thread and send it to Mark's family, maybe it's comforting for them to know there are friends of him everywhere caring about him...
I remember him going in, but guess I lost track of time. I haven't been on here as much the last few weeks given my vacation and such. Thoughts and prayers that everything they are doing will have him back up and around in no time. PDG
