I kept hearing about these bikes from riders who actualy ride. This seemed odd because the prior thruxton and classic triumphs seemed way more style than substance.

Was looking at BMW R9T's and the new thruxton kept comming up. Took a look, the new ones seem like really nice bikes.

    Anybody have experience with them?

I can't speak to the newer 1200cc Thruxton's, but my 2015 Ace edition with the 900cc engine is a blast to drive. I've modified it quite a bit (lighter weight rims, exhaust, suspension and some body work) and can't wait for the temps to rise above 50 and get back out on the road.

If you're looking at a substance bias I'm sure many of the naked bikes, ducatis, KTM's and others will dust the Thruxton. It's hard for me to find the line between style and substance. I like any of the Thruxtons. I think they're cool, have character and if I'm riding more than an hour I'd be on something else.
Of course I like old Norton Commandos and Moto Guzzi LeMans.

New one is 100hp which not too long ago was more than plenty. Not too heavy, seemed really comfortable comapared the previous ones at least on showroom floor and from what i read they handle superlatively. Sort of like a new version of duc sport classic.

Asking because I was all R9T till I saw the new thruxton.

I've been looking into Triumphs, thinking about ordering one this year, just can't figure out which model.
Thruxton or T120... I'm done with speed, love the styling.

The R9T Racer, though, beats it on looks... but then I think the R9T Racer beats just about anything on looks except, possibly, the Ducati SportClassic 1000S...

I think the BMW looks so much better than that thing! But, to each his own... and I imagine the CB1000R might be much nicer to ride than the BMW.

I love the Bonny - captures the essence of the original Triumphs from the past.

I had a 2014 Thruxton. It was a nice bike, and I enjoyed riding it, but decided I just wanted something a little more comfortable. I had a bit of buyers remorse, and kind of wished I went with the Bonneville. Then when the T120's came out, I knew that was the bike I wanted. Sold the Thruxton and bought a T120 Black. Haven't looked back since. I absolutely love the T120. I'm sure the new Thruxtons are great as well, but I liked the more relaxed seating position of the Bonneville, and it is better suited to where/how I ride. The first time I rode the T120, I knew I made the right choice. I immediately felt completely comfortable on it.

I'm sure the Bonnevile is a better bike but that's a great looking Thruxton.
