Matt, The shop it's at for the suspension is a private collection here in town. I'd be happy to show you the car once it's out. Glad you're enjoying the thread.
The oil cooler hoses came in today from Superformance. I have to say these things are substantial and very well made. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I wasn't able to find anyone that does these. I talked with a guy at Newco in California and local hydraulic shops. The clamp fittings aren't like original even on these. If anyone comes up with a source, I'll get my original ones done and put back on. For now, I'm going with these from Superformance.
No, not at all. The car is a '72 and was repainted in 1978 to a high standard. Most likely due to the fact that these cars sat outside in the weather waiting to be assembled at the factory. The 1978 paint still looks great.
I was planning to paint my 95 355 with single stage per original but I'm now leaning more toward base / clear mostly because it makes repairs much easier.
How does it make repairs easier? Especially if you have them mix extra paint of the same batch/mix. Freeman
Because if you need to do a spot repair, you can clear to a panel edge vs applying color to the whole panel. Also, buffing clear coat is much safter than color coat. EDIT - I just opened IG after this post - is this you? Talk about a coincidence Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi Skipp - I'd gladly take you up on that offer! I truly appreciate a car that is not over-restored, yours fits the bill nicely!
I received the shocks back today. These were rebuilt at True Choice, a Koni authorized shop in OH. They look beautiful with the correct burnt orange paint and stickers. Bill at True Choice was easy to deal with and did a good job. I had gotten some negative comments from fchat members about True Choice, but my experience was positive. Here's the paint code for others that may need it. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I made it by the shop to drop off the shocks and got to view more progress. Final fuel hoses replaced Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
