    Quickie question:

On your typical classic car (think 330GT 2+2, Jag E-type, MB 230SL) which of these 3 would typically be the greatest cost to totally restore from a semi-running COMPLETE hulk:

    1.Body and interior

2.Drive train from radiator to exhaust tip including electrical

    3. Suspension, chassis, brakes and steering.

Oh dear, not much interest in this one.

    I'd say, it depends!

If you're talking about a Ferrari, well, then imho 2: the drivetrain, as it's made up of unique custom bits which are in short supply and cost prohibitive to remake. The body (trim bits excepted), can be remade using a $100 english wheel. I exaggerate, but that's the idea.

Perhaps an Iso is the opposite - Chevy V8 running gear, but rather rare bodies. It's all relative.

Perhaps a Jag is in the middle, engines could be fiddly to properly restore (although Jaglovers.org is a good resource), but the bodies are somewhat prone to rust. Plenty built though.

It also depends if you do it yourself, or hire it all out.

I know nothing about MB, and I could be completely wrong about the rest!

    Cheers, Jon
