BEWARE THE IDES OF MARCH!!!!
Et tu? Only one problem: I started putting my kit together and there are no instructions.Sorry, maybe I should know how everything goes intuitively, but the last time I put a slot car together was 4 decades ago. Maybe Slot-It has something on line.
Dennis, Excellent, thanks! Somehow I overlooked the links the first time. These will walk me through it.
So, slot car time! Are we still on for tomorrow at Cloverleaf? Might be nice enough to bring the real cars too
I actually won't be making it tomorrow, I will be at the Columbus Auto Show. I'll be there in spirit though, and have a blast!! Chris
I started out there but turned around... Would have been driving into the tornado belt area. Hope everyone is ok.
Yes, the skies started to turn UGLY in Salem, so we decided not to risk leaving cover. Reports of large hail, epic rain and even tornadoes. To anyone that braved the heavy weather last night, I SALUTE you! Brian
I drove home from Ohio last night, and the rain was INSANE for a short while. There was one point where people came to a dead stop on the freeway when it rained. The rain was coming down so hard it was making a very loud cracking sound. Nothing on the vehicle was cracking, that's just how loud it was. Luckily, there was a gas station right at the exit I was near, so I took the exit and took shelter there for a bit. Chris
We figured that is what happened, and we did hear that there were funnels in Livingston/Washtenaw. The results of last nights fierce competition: Open racing category: Dennis won, Jon was second Bake-off: Eunice's butter tarts swept the field Our new Veyron flipped off the track on the first corner and broke a headlight. No excuse, I'm just sayin'. Started to put the 312 kit together after we got home, as I don't think the Bugatti will be competitive.
Actually, Neal, I already did! 1) I've been running modified F1 cars, and they are just silly fast!! Not one car on the track could have touched them. 2) I actually sat out an entire heat, so Jon scored one more point than I did, and was the official winner for the night. But you can never have enough bacon!!!
Actually, with the addition of bacon, you could have a shot at both classes (cars and food)! I did get my car together by the way, so I will try it out next time we go. I may enter the Veyron in the aerial competition, as it seems to fly better than it drives
Lol! My Mazda 787B seemed to be a better remote control plan than a car. But Team Cloverleaf helped matters significantly with some suspension adjustments.
