+1. Thought Scuderia was the best until drove the 458 for a while. A very deceiving car that Italia is,seemed underwhelming at first, the more angry miles you put in it the more you are convinced what an unbeatable package it is.
My 350Z, which felt like a Cadillac after going for a ride in Simon's F40 on the same roads an hour earlier, lol.
R8 V10 coupe. The only change I'd make are some wider front tires to make it a touch more neutral. Understeer is unfortunately dialed in to this car to prevent dentists from hurting themselves. Off topic, the single fastest car I've driven is the 911 Turbo S. Out of this world, crazy, insane fast. It remains an outright performer, but as will a lot of the 911 range, it's a hard riding car.
I used to say a Caterham... ....however, this baby is the best road-legal driving experience available (Porsche Powered) 1965 Huron Beev Image Unavailable, Please Login
no...I expect a GoPro wide motorsport camera to be delivered tomorrow...so "film at 11" Actually the Huron was put into storage this week for the winter to make room in the garage at home for a couple new cars I'm getting..an vintage Mini Cooper S clone for me and a Fiat Barchetta for my wife. These are just daily fun cars not performance as per this thread. beev Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I love my Katech/Caravaggio Z06 If I could only have 1 sportscar that would be it AC, Navigation, great interior, 650hp +, fantastic brakes, great handling, 6 speed, gorgeous, tame in town - Monster on the track. Fastest accelerating? Micheal Robinson's 1970 Outlaw 10.5 Camaro. This was about 6 years ago, 2500+ hp 632" all aluminum big block Chevy + lots and lots of n2o, 3000lbs limited to a 10.5" wide rear tire. 0-160mph in about 4.5 seconds. Best handling? Lotus Exige 240 cup car around Road Atlanta. Best overall car, and you all are going to laugh. The 2008 VW GTI I owned a while back until a Avalanche ran a red light in front of me. It was nimble, and really the funnest daily driver I've ever had. Mine had the DSG transmission, and got great gas mileage if I stayed out of the turbo, had the APR reflash and down pipe supposedly made about 260ish hp. Oh and love my Jeep as well! 2006 Rubicon.
In my amateur opinion, my modified 6spd Supra has been hands down, the most comfortable (almost too much so), capable performer on and off the track including daily driving or driving across state lines with the latest jaunt last weekend to Vegas for a 4 nights 3 days trip. Brakes that will make you eat windshield (70-0 record holder until 2004, beat by the Carrera GT), 23mpg on the highway, a modified suspension with more lateral G and road holding ability (1.1G+) than you've got balls for anywhere except a track, and tasteful specific power mods to make it powerful (550hp), reliable, and heart stirring to hear. Here's the end result of almost my exact engine mods, except I have a smaller, better spec'ed turbo for drivability, economy, and more suited to low end performance. I can't second those Viper comments.. those cars might perform well, but they lack in so many other areas that they aren't the pinnacle of anything except displacement and money sinks to replace any fiberglass. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-6y_xixS5b4 http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h267/JaguarXJ12/1993%20Toyota%20Supra%20Turbo/Photo537.jpg
I would say an Enzo but I only drove it about ten feet. Runners up would be a '78 911 Turbo, a 2002 E39 M5, and an Evo X.
For sheer acceleration, my GMC Typhoon is by far the quickest vehicle I've driven. For overall driving experience (corners included), the Porsche Boxster Spyder really impressed me.
Man I must have driven the wrong F40. It's cult following aside it was very difficult to drive quickly and not very comfortable to say the least. I've told you anytime you and Katie are in town come by CGT through the mountains, smoothest most stable car at high speeds I've ever been remotely close to. Scud (stock) or GT3RS (on hoosiers) straight tie on the track. Both perfect in their own way with the ability to make you want more every lap! Both freakishly fast with room to grow in every corner.
