I'm in the process of shipping an item of some value to Malaysia but was wondering if there's a safe and reliable way through FedEx or UPS or? Once it gets there is there a tax or other charges? Thanks.

Most Asian countries have high taxes and also, depending on the item, you may need additional paperwork. I normally hand carry any valuable items I bring including paintings and make arrangements on how they are on-loaded and off-loaded from my flight(s). I doubt the couriers will do high value.

Hey mate , DHL / FedEx should be do the job.
make sure you undeclare the item if it's for your own use and want it shipped there .

Most to most, you would be asked to pay more taxes.

Malayasia is a corrupted as it gets , be vary .

Hi Mike, it really depends on the contents. There's a 6% GST to be paid before the beneficiary can receive it. If it's any electronic, car parts etc then you're in for a massive 30 to few hundred % duty. Depends on how you declare it and if they want to get nasty but otherwise a breeze.
