I an anxious to see how all the auctions go overall. I have suspicions that with the R/E market teetering on the edge of the abyss in lots of areas like Florida, Cali, the northeast and such the baby boomers may start curtaining some of their crazy spending. At current prices and after the crazy run they have had over the past several years, collector cars have to be in the "crazy" catagory at this point. Will the big Monterey auctions this year indicate the needle has punctured the balloon???

The last I knew, the car was owned by S.Robson Walton, of Wal-Mart fame. Christies had it at an auction in Maranello last year and it did not sell. I would like to wish the new owner many years of enjoyment driving this great car.

The 72 365 GTS/4 Daytona Spyder alloy conversion sold for $320k. A fun car to take up to the block! I thought it was very clean and in great shape

Not if you go by the results at Christies. From what I could see, all the Ferraris there sold within the pre-auction estimate range, with the 225 Vignale Sport Spider topping the list at $1.28 million. And the Miura SV went for $477K, well above the high estimate of $425K. (The cars that DIDN'T sell there were the highest-end Porsches.)

the 275 4 cam went for 900,000 like the queen for 135,000 and the 195 bitsa for 300000+ the crowd had a mid 80s feel to it.......

Those Porsches were definately poorly presented. You could almost choke of the fumes and smoke coming out of every vent on each car (including the rear wheel wells) - I'm surprised the smoke alarms didn't go off.

A little money spent prepping these cars for auction could have gone a long way.

    THE only 412MI...Monza Indianapolis...actually a hot rodded 335S, IIRC...

    Not a 400i, definately not a 412P....LOL!

Maybe it was a 315S to start with, so it's had several engine swaps, greasey fingerprints all over the darn thing.....
