Shocking few cars have traded in the secondary market.
I fell in love with a Grigio GTS/Cuoio GTS at Ferrari of Silicon Valley about 6 weeks ago. They let me test drive it and damn...I was smitten. A VIP client speced it at $489K msrp. Drove it 385 miles and consigned it to the dealer after 6 months of ownership. The dealer was asking $599K. They had it for less than a week and bam, it was gone. I couldn't really swing it at the time... I just saw that a "private seller" sold it with 410 miles a couple weeks later for $699K. I wish I was in a position at the time to pull the trigger. I would be driving it today and for many, many years to come... depreciation/appreciation be damned....! That's ok though, my Grigio Scuro F12 arrives in a few weeks. I think I'll be alright...
Current asks at or above 700k. Several traded hands or whisper sales in Florida There’s one at Ferrari CF now. Don’t know exact ask but it around that. White/red. Nice spec. I think I have a picture somewhere from when it delivered.
@plastique999 Yes, and for re-sale will very likely be more than twice the price (812CA vs 812GTS)...
On Saturday I was offered GTS with 400 miles at USD600k Thats roughly 100 premium. Am seriously tempted but not sure I can justify that level of premium for what in the end is a production car. Be interested in members thoughts.
yes it is a production car …. But if you jump out for a second from the badge 1 of…… are you sure this car worth so less than an 812 competizione coupe? ( 1000 pcs production car )? I mean in terms of emotion, style, and the fact that this is a spider with only the double production numbers of the limited coupe 812 competizione? Just ask…
Can you confirm a total production of around 2000 units? I wouldn't be surprised by an higher number.
This is an average number from different sources here in this Fchat .. allocation per country.. private info etc.. if not 2000 maybe 2300 but not 3000 or something like that…
My sense is that the ongoing micro-chip supply & Covid issues at the factory will continue to slow down production. They will make fewer GTS than planned. I wouldn't let the 100k premium bother you too much, if you can comfortably afford it. It's an awesome car and you won't regret it!
2000-2500 units total. closer to 2000 because of supply issues, US allocations are done for the limited 2-year production. some folks outside of US can still get one, but that is because the dealer still has an allocation.
IMHO supply for 812 GTS is going to be closer to 3000 globally, give or take some. My simple calculation is as follows: I have reasonably good info that there will be about 300 units in Japan, and Japan’s market share is roughly 10%. So voila, my best guess is 3000 units globally. Btw, orders are still being accepted in Japan (as I just placed mine) but I hear the window is closing soon.
Mine should be here really soon, but honestly if someone said I could have had one "now" vs waiting 2 years that it's taken since deposit, I would do that without question. To me, $100k over for a V12 convertible Ferrari is a no brainer....
