Hello everyone, long time Porsche owner, I just recently acquired a 99 360 Modena in Argento Nurburgring. Patiently awaiting for plates, if all goes well they should be here at the end of the week. First impressions of the 360 is that it is super wide, the ASR is very archaic and intrusive and you really have the eyes on you when you drive it, something that the P cars never really had. I keep on going in the garage to peek at it. She is not very fast but it definitely feels more special than my other cars. Next on the agenda will be a full service since the bets were last changed in 2016 and the fluids in 2019 (driven 500 miles since). I am thinking about taking her to Driver Source on Memorial. I hope to meet some Houston owners soon, I am not really big on static meetings but I do enjoy spirited drives, trackdays and go karts. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Congrats and welcome to the addiction! Beautiful car. You never really get used to the attention a Ferrari brings. I LOL'd at "not very fast", she IS 20 years old! Technology has changed a lot in that time!
Thank you! True that technology has improved, yet my 996 GT3 still feels fast even for today's standards. Regardless, I did not pick the 360 for its performance. It's the experience that I am looking after.
Congrats, enjoy the new ride! The attention takes some getting used to, I'm still not all the way comfortable with it. Otherwise, a great experience!
Thanks! Bought from an individual in NC. I flew to check out the car and after a couple of 8k shifts, I was sold! Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
I am open to other recommendations. I will take the car in at the end of June Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
I always thought it was stupid to replace wheels on a Ferrari. So I ordered these. Image Unavailable, Please Login End of June she will go in for: - Challenge Stradale exhaust - Sport Cats - Belts, tensioners, fluids - Replace water pump - replace a couple of coolant lines - inspect fuel pumps - install wheels/tires 235/40 and 295/35 - Challenge stradale alignment Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Wow those wheels came in quick from Japan. Where are you going for the alignment? Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Oh great car and gated too! happy to help if you diy.... you can save big look forward to meet up and drive I just did my water pump at home. And my annual. And replaced my exhaust for stock. As far as fast... I’m pretty sure my ls swap e36 is faster.... but I’d much rather drive the modena.
Wow, you did all that? We need to become friends! I was thinking about replacing the exhaust by myself, I am not sure I feel too confident to do the belts though Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Happy to help— I have not done timing belts yet. Mine are due next year. I will be doing them myself. happy to help you w annual water pump and exhaust... super easy.
I truly believe in that! I just don’t have a lift. I am ok in doing oil change and potentially the exhaust too. Can’t be harder than my gt3 Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
If you have a garage space we can do it. Let’s catch up soon grab coffee get the Houston crew together.
I like the sans shields look on the older cars.... let’s you focus on the great lines.... and somewhat under the radar.
