I got a PM asking for my vote and I'm, like, 200 miles south of the border. (I did spend three days in Vancouver this summer and had a great time, but that hardly qualifies me to give an informed vote). Is the general f-chat populace being solicited or is it just that my opinion carries so much weight!

Vasco, now that the voting is almost finished, I was wondering.... How did it work for you the last time for the selection process? Does a Global Mod or Rob interview/discuss with the candidates before making a choice? What's the usual timeline before a final decision is made? Just curious to know....

Lest users get riled up over the vote ending and no perceived action, I'm posting to set expectations on what will happen. Rob mentioned to the mods that he's got a bunch of stuff on his plate right now (hosting the Fchat activities at the Austin F1 is probably the most immediate) and will get to a decision after he's had a chance to review the posts on this thread, the poll results, any submitted mod input, any submitted user feedback on the candidates, and a review of various candidates' posting history. In other words, do not expect anything immediate, but it will happen. If for no other reason than that Vasco will continue to nag him about it if he doesn't.
