Ok, I have decided to start a new thread on this matter since the other old thread I bumped had no legs. I would like to step down as mod. After 10 great years I would like to move on. However, I will not want to just abandon this great section we have all enjoyed for years. I want to make sure the right person steps in. I would like all to participate from East to the west in choosing the right person to fill in as a Canadian Mod. I will then start a poll in order for us to vote in this new person. I will of course make sure that the person is willing to be voted in Thanks for your time and please keep this real, serious and unbiased. Oh and no voting scandal like the last time Cheers,
Ok, great idea. But did you read my post mon ami? Who are we gonna vote for? No one has posted any candidates
Maybe it's just me, but I have no idea what a "Mod for Canada" is or does. I assume you are a moderator for the Canadian section, but what does that mean? What are the duties? Clarifying this might help to decide who would be best to do it. Rick
Vasco, Why don't you rattle off a list of folks you think would be good for the job. After all, Rob's first rule of moderation is, "I don't want anyone who volunteers, they're too eager." You must have a short list in your head of folks here who would be good for it. Just pop a few names on here and see where it goes. And TEN YEARS? You did ten years as Canada Moderator? That's like doing about 1/2 an hour in P&R. This is really one of the most likeable groups of guys we have here. There must be someone who can do the job. Dave
Nice try there Lifetime Rossa boy. I am exempt from any job here on Fchat. I did my time. And, at one point had to moderate in the Aussie Section. Sooo . . . Thanks, but NO THANKS!! D
I think Big red is a good candidate as he has 4.17 post a day so he is very active. I checked and Bernardo66 also has 4.17 post a day. Some guys on the list for now if they accept. Big red and Bernardo and maybe Fave.
Dave, hope you're well. Thanks for popping in. First off, I do understand that those who are eager shouldn't be let in. Etc etc. This is why I want to help pick a mod and not just abandon this great place. There are a few who I simply would not let in. The ones I, and many would like simply cannot or declined due to other reasons. Bernie being one of my top choice has gracefully declined many times. I respect that. So did our chapter leader in Calgary. Rick, he's a great guy and also an ex mod so I doubt he will want back in. Any other suggestions?
Ok I try one. Fabricio(treedee3d). He seem to be active and he's use to organize so I guess he must have the ability to do it. And like he said he likes to be in everything.
Not an option. Rob, at least not that I've ever seen, never unretires a mod. New guys, fresh outlook seems to be the pattern. You have a bunch of active guys here, right? Look at them. Dave
Bernie is power mad!! He'll be posting breasts and cats all over the site with impunity if Rob makes him a moderator. I think he's make a good moderator for Canada. Bernie, c'mon, give it a shot. Or use peer pressure. Post a poll, put a half dozen or so names on it that YOU like, and see if they can beg off after the crowd showers them with adulation. Regional moderators have the advantage of really knowing their constituents. You don't have to know 10,000,000 guys, just a couple hundred or so, and even fewer that are really active. Regional moderating is the best gig on this particular planet. So, c'mon guys, shoot some name out there. D
Thanks for the kind words and vote of confidence Claude. I'd love to do it one day but I'm a bit of a "cage-rattling-no-BS" kind of guy who calls it like he sees it and not enough of a sponsor kiss-ass so I don't think that I'm the typical guy that would be suitable for Rob & the mods. But, that being said, it would be an honour and I would love to do it....perhaps later on. Bernie's got the experience and the reputation to be a great mod for Canada but I don't think he wants to. I may be wrong....
That's a good thing and what we need. And I certainly hope you don't think I am like that However, I think a few people were hoping I was
Vasco, sorry I meant no offense....I only heard pleasant things about you by some mutual friends and you seem like a stand-up guy. Much respect...
Finishing for the compliment ...ok, I will throw one your way. Everyone thinks you're a stand up guy , you have much to be proud when looking in the mirror in the morning.
