This is great news! My sister lives in Kingsmill, so I've spent a lot of
time there. I've told her it's like living in La-La land. She has a
wonderful house, in a gated community, yet gets all of the benefits of a
full-scale resort There are multiple resteraunts, multiple pools (including
a heated indoor pool), a full-scale spa, a marina on the James River (4
miles shore to shore at that point), and three golf courses including the
championship River Course where the LPGA is holding an event this year. Add
to that, Kingsmill has been listed as one of the best family resorts in the
country, with play areas, indoor game room, a family-oriented restaurant,
and shuttle service to Bush Gardens Theme Park right next door (you can get
your tickets right from the concierge at Kingsmill). Our family has done
it all there, and it is really fantastic. I cannot recommend this place
enough. The landscaping alone is worth the visit. My wife and I and the 328GTS will
definitely be there for the new Ferraris on the James.

Great news, Chuck! I hope the "two people" organizing the event take some lessons from FOTV, especially on the entrance fee. I know a couple of folks who bailed on FOTV because of the costs.

I'm in for the March 23rd display and can bring either the 365 GTC or 365 BB (maybe both), if those old bangers would be welcomed. PM sent.

You are correct in your assessment of the weather potential in October. However, in this area of Virginia, bad weather can happen an hour from now. By and large, many of us here regard April and October as the only two months which make it worth living here the rest of the year.

If I still have the ferrari come October, my wife and I would probably like to attend. I've recently heard more regarding the Ferraris on the Vine event, the scope of it all. Pretty amazing, and regret we missed it last time. Honestly, this sounds for us maybe even better.

In the Williamsburg area, October is actually a good weather period. Other than the chance of a hurricane running over us, the worst you'll have to face is a bunch of tourists looking for tri-corn hats. There's always the chance of rain, but that applies anywhere, anytime in Virginia.

+1 You'd be amazed at the difference in weather between here and nova and it's only about a 2.5 hr drive. Plus the leaves should be turned by then which will make for some spectacular scenery.

October is great around here, and it was downright warm last year. It will be a good final event before my car goes down for the major in November :)

Wow. That must have been an unpleasant day... :(

So your comment had me wondering when it last snowed in Williamsburg in October, but I couldn't quickly locate that info, but found this "averages" info on weatherspark.com for Williamsburg, VA:

The month of October is characterized by rapidly falling daily high temperatures, with daily highs decreasing from 79°F to 68°F over the course of the month, exceeding 86°F or dropping below 58°F only one day in ten. Daily low temperatures range from 48°F to 61°F, falling below 39°F or exceeding 69°F only one day in ten.

Angela and I will be there. That's my birthday so it better be good! However, that is the same week as the national event in Palm Springs I believe. Anyway, we will be there to see everyone again. Let me know if you want me to bring my 348 to Richmond. [email protected]

When my Dad was still alive he was dating a woman who lived in Kingsmill for a while. It is a very nice place.

Thanks, Curtis, I appreciate the offer. I haven't gotten any details about the March 23 display from Chuck yet, so hang loose. The Boxer is presently with Richard at Competizione. The work isn't on any particular schedule, so that car may not be ready to roll by the 23rd. Also, the 23rd is a Friday, which means a vacation day will be needed to participate in the event. Let's stay in touch by PM or email.

No clue, some guy just left it sitting in old town. :)

It is very nice, but you must be very very careful of the speed limit, they aren't rent-a-cops in there and they like to prove it.
