Would anybody have an extra, used, greasy,
Lower Front Wishbone, Mounting 'U' Bolt Fork?

It does not have to be pretty, only straight, as one of mine was rather bent.
Superformance sells it, but it is SS. I want original rust :)

    Please pm for further developments.
    Thank you.
    Regards, Alberto

Used forks with unknown history is not always the best buy since they are heavily exposed parts. These parts could be weaken by old impact damage and/or over torque'ing during installation. Ask me how I know...-:) Original steel forks are available at Ferrariparts UK. Parts #601720

Jon, will do, if there are any...
Peter, so I assume you replaced all on your car?
What do you think of the stainless steel from SF?

I re-used all the original forks on the Dino after thorough visual inspection and have had no problems ever since. But I had a nasty experience with my Boxer that had suffered a slight impact damage on the right front side. Here I also opted to re-use the two RHS lower forks upon thorough visual inspection and had them re-plated and installed using correct torque value and tools. One week later I found a big M14 mm nut with bolt remains on my garage floor and it turned out to be a sheared fork. The fork stud was broken in the first part of the stud thread. What I'm saying is that if you choose to re-use old forks then either trust their history or have them NDT checked for cracks by someone that knows what they are doing. And even then, you don't know if they have been stretched above their tension limit. Why SF have chosen to produce new forks in stainless steel is beyond my imagination. First of all I believe SS is more prone to develop cracks over time than black steel and secondly I wouldn't install anything made out of SS on my Dino if I could avoid it.....It is not period correct and will stick out like a sour thumb in my opinion.

    Best, Peter

Be careful of the Superformance U-Bolts dimensions.
I purchased these and they were not as long as my USA version OEM bolts so did not fit my car.
    YMMV

Thank you Scott. Duly noted. Another case, when through potential lack of involvement,
the results are less than expected. Why not make them the proper length?

    Alberto,
Which Dino is this for the L or E?
Lower front fork part # by serial #
    206-246 L-series : 640557 (in stock at Maranello NOS)
E-series early and late : 641261 (in stock at Maranello, remanufactured)

There are 4 different types of U-bolts on each Dino model, some are 10mm shorter (on rear for example). I expect they sent Scott the wrong ones or part numbers are wrong.
They also updated them for each series, I think there are about 9 different U-bolts for Dinos.

Andrew, it is (was, as straightened now, so no need) for the E.
So we are all fixed :)
    Thank you!
