I came close. the vang sold the same day to a cash buyer thus a much easier transaction for the dealer. valuation was difficult for my boxer. in fairness, I was not sure what my car was worth?

good news is I still have my boxer but bad news is I have not driven her in over 4 years. need to find a way to fall back in love with her. been enjoying my alfa qv however!

Wow that would have been a waste.

Boxer: steady potentially appreciating over a ten year span

Vanquish: sinks like a rock a la every Aston.

    Yikes...definitely dodged a bullet there!

Put your bb512 back on the road and enjoy it in all it's analog glory.

I could see wanting to trade...

    ...but a vanquish?

    Yuck!

I suspected these would be the responses. it was very impulsive to be sure. the vanquish would not have been the car to hold long term like the boxer but I have now owned my boxer for close to 19 years. I have just not had the time nor will to enjoy it much in the last 5 years. the vanquish would have been a sexy but mindless and totally useable car...not really too bad really.

a major service is in the cards this winter so I can get to drive her again.

at any rate, the boxer remains in my hands and I suppose I would have regretted it as the group suggests. thanks for weighing in fellows.

well, thought it was pretty sexy and w/ only 200 miles on the clock and a $180k discount off msrp it seemed like I could use it as a near daily driver. the vanquish is also exotic in construction and material choices for the construction. a good bit more exotic than a db9 or vantage.

I still may get one but keep the bbi.

Peter, you gave me alot of advice/encouragement when I was looking for a Boxer.

You need to get back behind the wheel of that car and get out into the mts not to far from Charlotte. I would love to have those roads near by for some nice long drives. Especially in the late fall head to the smokeys and burn out a few tanks.

Now if you said "The new McLaren"...:D :D

    No, even then ….no.
So I like the look of the Astons too...really well built classy cars.
    Some even have a stick!!

I am the same though, no real reason but my 308GTB sits, unused.

Probably from the ^&%^&%* I see in traffic every day here.

I was eye balling the stick shift DBS for awhile.
That would have been an appreciating last-of-the-run Aston. But......

I think Aston just came out and said they will redo stick shift V12s soon.

    Dodged a bullet there.

Never even considered the newer (used) automatic Vanquish beyond a mild curiosity.
The seat stitching is just plain weird.

    Besides;

    "ferraripete" > "astonpete"
    ;)
