Seriously. At least bring the gravel out to the edge of the green lane. This is racing, where drivers are supposed to actually drive. Should be consequences for not driving well.
I agree, it's just we don't want the consequences to be fatal. But when we have DRS zones, telemetry, drive by wire, engine modes etc etc, you'd have thought they could put some kind of senor which would dock a driver who transgresses some horsepower ... for some seconds ... or something.
Agreed, it should be automatic rather than 'after the third transgression will send it to the Stewards for review and maybe a penalty'.
Cars should remain on the track denoted by the white lines. This much is "in" the rules There should be consequences when the car leaves the confines of "the track". The only argument is whether any part of the car is on the track constitutes the car is "on" the track (a) or whether all of the car has to remain on the track constitutes the car is "on" the track (b). (a) corresponds to American Football. (b) corresponds to golf and pocket billiards. In times past (say 1055) when any part of a car left the track, there were dire consequences indeed. Racing was considered a sport back there, why change the margin calls ?
They could use the sensors and the "command and control system" so that if the car "left the confines" of the track, the engine would be placed at idle for 10 seconds while the transmission shifted into neutral for 10 seconds.
That could be dangerous to following drivers, but the technology is there to do something of the sort.

..I spot a couple prius engines on ferrari boxes... no problem this weekend, they will fix the lack of speed... if they get the plutonium on time for the flux capacitor... (max speed for ferrari this year is 88 miles)
Speed is not measured in length (miles) but in length per unit time (miles per hour). You know, like "made the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs", same mistake in the movie as in your sentence.
250 doctors and nurses to attend Italian GP as spectators Ferrari has revealed that 250 doctors and nurses who played a role on the frontline in the fight against COVID-19 will attend this weekend’s Italian Grand Prix at Monza.
I have in my mind a race like last year with Ricciardo taking the place of Leclerc and Lewis trying to pass it and Ricciardo getting the final victory
I will bet for Daniel or Ocon on the podium with a bit of luck. Very fine gesture to invite medical personnel as a thank you gift for their Covid efforts.
Gasly has done well. Should be retained. -- https://www.gpfans.com/en/articles/56337/gasly-in-the-dark-over-f1-future/ Pierre Gasly has declared he does not know what the future holds for him in Formula 1 after Christian Horner recently suggested a return to Red Bull was not an option. Gasly, whose contract with AlphaTauri expires at the end of this year, has continued his impressive form from the latter half of 2019, picking up points for the team in four of the seven races this season. With Alexander Albon almost certain to retain his seat at Red Bull, which he took from the Frenchman last summer, Gasly could be looking elsewhere to find a seat on the F1 grid for 2021. Where Carlos Sainz and Daniel Ricciardo have both recently left the Red Bull 'family' to join Renault, Gasly is still in the dark over his F1 future. "It’s not up to me to decide," added Gasly, who is likely to be retained by AlphaTauri given his performances so far this season.
