Today I read Leclerc's statements regarding Monza and they are very ... shall we say ... resigned. Monza will be "more of the same or worse" with the aggravation that it will be in his own home. What about next weekend will be very hard for all of us who follow Ferrari. At this point the only thing I hope is that there is no other internet blackout like last week that let me see only the last four laps. Meanwhile, the Messi / Barcelona drama seems much more interesting. And I really don't want to be in Carlos Sainz's shoes ... he must be rethinking the contract and how to get out gracefully.
Yep, 2021 doesn't seem to be the ideal moment to join Ferrari as a driver. But a lot must be happening in the technical department, I presume, in view of the 2022 season.
Let's go ahead and make this the Pre-race thread. First pics from Monza. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The depth of the problem is such i find it hard to imagine a resurgence for 2022. In fact, right now , truth is they have no plan.
I don´t think it´s going to be worse. Al Spa they got lost with the donwforce setup and also gambled on a wet race. At least here they should be better than the Alfas.
Quali mode ban starting at this GP. Let's see how much of a difference it will make when compared to this years times vs last years times. (Mercedes)
I see Ricciardo's Renault in the fight for the podium next weekend and even if once in a lifetime the Mercedes breaks down maybe he could win, what do you think?
Channel 4 over here put up a really interesting set of statistics about Spa and which team had improved the most interms of lap time over last year. Williams had improved the most by a long way, Mercedes were top/middle and the only team to not improve/ go slower was Ferrari. So there is hope for Ferrari for next year; but can they sort themselves out and actually make improvements? Given they will have to a) close the gap that currently exists this year and b) close the gap that the other teams will make between now and next year!! Double whammy!!!
First and foremost is Ferrari's engine. They need to make up anywhere from 50hp to 80hp.....then comes the chassis and aero. That 50 to 80hp is going to take years. Ferrari got "punched" by the FIA all the way back to 2017 IMO in the engine category. Long season'S (more than 2 years) ahead for Leclerc, Sainz, Ferrari and the tifosi.

Not even sure why Ferrari bothers to take everything off the trucks. They could just crash out both cars on Friday and drop out of the race, claiming no spare parts. Or start blowing up the engines as fast as they can and duck out that way. It would be far less painful to watch.
Given that everyone knows how the remainder of the season will be, and that 2021 doesn't bode well, might as well say **** it and turn the engine back on to last yrs standard for qualifying. That will wake everyone up for a couple days and make for some good press.
Track limits FIA will control track limits at T11 (parabolica) with 2 timing loop sensors: 1 at mid corner and anothet at the exit, where there was a banana. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
