Stunning turnout for a Holiday weekend- Hated to run in the middle of one of Paul's stories... Some serious cars and some nice guys- R8 drawing quite a crowd- Flat right rear on the Scud- bummer! We even converted a passerby in a 3.2 Carrera into a future member! Little disappointed in the Porsche turnout but a 77 Glass 308- TR, 355 and 430 Scud representing! Might have the start of a nice group here- Love to have a Lambo show up - Aren't there a couple of Panteras in the neighborhood as well? See you next weekend! need more pics of the older school Bentley, Azure? so this is on future Sundays? Next week the brit cars will be at Larz Anderson for Brit car day
It's a '99 Bentley Continental SC. I think it's 1 of 60 or so for that year. No numbers to designate unfortunately. It has a distinguishing FP plate. Here's some more pics of it. http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc3/hs368.snc3/23701_381439979676_561314676_4067914_7628242_n.jpg http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc3/hs510.snc3/26772_382001409676_561314676_4086185_7415943_n.jpg Yes, that is a Targa top. It was designed by Pinanfarina (sp). I did do a little filming for the event and I'm going to pic up a big external drive hopefully Wednesday so I can start work on a bigger video.
Yeah every Sunday- If we can entice enough people then we should be able to keep a nice group going- obviously people have other commitments and travel plans- But it's great to see some of these cars and meet some interesting neighbors
Not a scratch on the car. One little tiny nick on the edge of the rim. A drop of touch up paint made it disappear. Still amazed that a hole got punched through the sidewall with no other damage to the car.
I hate to remind you of your pain, but everyone, when his tire blew Jay asked, "what is that!" I said, "sound like they're power-washing the street." The air coming out was that loud.
Hey Guys, Sorry to hear about the tire...fortunately the wheel is ok. Seems like this get together my be taking off, looks like the weather was perfect also. Thanks for posting the photos, wish I was there. I plan on being there next weekend though, and if Kenny is up to making the trip up again, there is always lots of conversation comparing the two Testarossa's, Kenny's - the first year of production and my '91 - the last year of production. Have a good week paul
Hope we can keep this going this Sunday- June 6- 10:00... Love to get some of the Lotus/Aston/Bentley/Lambo guys hip to this- If any of you are members of any of the other forums I hope you can spread the word. It's 154 Turnpike Road Southborough, MA 01772 Every Sunday at 10:00am weather permitting. Given everyone's Summer travel plans, Cape House, Lake Houses and the like... I suspect we'll have a pretty different sampling every weekend.
Useless link for those that aren't Facebookers of which I am not. Any chance of posting this up on Youtube or some such?
Thx Allen. I don't care what anyone says but Tr's still look as badazz as anything going down the road. Weather not looking too sweet for this Sunday though. Bummer.
Geez I'm not going to vegas with YOU. "Mostly cloudy. A 30 percent chance of showers. Highs in the mid 70s."
Let's hope that the weatherman is wrong - then Allen can get a video of two BADAZZ TR's taking up the entire width of route 9... however, you won't be able to hear my fantastic 12 running next to Kenny's! So Allen...no volume required. Jay, you have to realize, that us TR guys don't come out when there is more than a 10%chance of rain. It really is a long ride for Kenny, and to get stuck in the rain sucks, me and you are only a couple miles away. I am pretty excited that this thread is still going strong...we can't let the guy's in CT have all the fun. Hope to see everyone Sunday morning.
Kenny, seeing that car, looking as timeless as ever, going down the road, well you would have to be insane to not respect that car. I had some video from the first one, but you really couldn't hear that car so I didn't show it (lol, just kidding). The best part was driving back. Kenny has a line of daily drivers who just lined right up behind him and wouldn't budge from their places. One SUV guy was riding him like he was drafting at Daytona! Two TRs going down that road would be absolutely insane. The footage I got of Jay was just junk. It was too shaky to even use unfortunately. I'm going to try to edit it a little so I can use a drive-by shot later and I'm sure we'll have a lot more opportunities to take shots. Has anyone called Starbucks to find out if we can zone off that back parking from 10 to noon or so?
Allen, Thanks a lot buddy... They may not hear me coming...but they will never catch me! It may actually be a lot safer for our cars if we parked in the office building parking lot, just on the other side of the picnic area. That way we can be out of the line of traffic coming in an out of Starbucks. I wouldn't imagine it would be a problem if we behave ourselves.
Lousy is correct...lost an awful lot of the fresh mulch the landscapers put down 2 weeks ago. I may just have to start working all weekend and take the nice days off during the week to enjoy the TR! Haven't decided on Starbucks or FoNE next Sunday for viewing the F1 race. Leaning towards FoNE, as it requires exercising the horsey a little more - car doesn't even warm up going to Starbucks. Have a great week.
