Check out Glucomannan fiber. This ingredient has good science and human clinicals to support the claim for lowering cholesterol with other benefits.

It's a fiber that also helps with satiety if you're wanting help with appetite control which helps if you are on a weight loss or weight management plan.

    Stay well,
    Mike

Got good results from taking red yeast rice (available at Costco). About 2.5-5% decrease in LDL and overal and increase in HDL.

real cardio or just 45 minutes at the gym 3-4x a week? The human body was meant to WORK, with intensity, like a Ferrari; not live at idle our entire lives.

Barley may reduce total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol. You can also use flaxseed ground, i read it reduces triglycerides

Since you are already doing cardio, for your diet try to eliminate processed foods. Try not to eat anything with more than 5 ingredients in it, and eliminate eating anything with SOY in it.

Garlic is a good blood thinner....if you have a cholesterol concern, you need to focus on your liver , and make sure your liver is cleansed and on top performance. The food best for this are all your anti oxidant foods, blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, Acai....couple this with daily dose of fresh garlic , either baked, or raw on a tomatoe salad. Also, take an omega 3 supplement daily , and cut your red meat intake by half in your 7 days of meals and replace with fresh fish, as in salmon, fillet of sole, halibut etc.... Just making these daily alternatives should yield better results in 6 -10 weeks...and finally, whatever you have for breakfast....switch to oatmeal 5days a week is a must for cholesterol....and not the pre packaged oatmeal.....real oatmeal, and add your fresh berries for flavour with some cinnamon on top...very tasty.

All good advice. I exercise regularly and have a low carb diet. But its tough to over come a familial predisposition......
