this is a 1992 NSX, but it is an automatic. silver color the original owner is a car collector. this car is very original, no modification what so ever! even the radio/cassette is original the interior is in excellent condition, and the body is also perfect, no damage, not even damage from supermarket trip..... never been into accident... and to proof all these, the car is only 15000KM!! (or 11000miles) selling for US$24000 (notice that Hong Kong import tax is high) ***this is equal to about US$14000 if selling in USA market.
Check to make sure all the services have been done. NSXs need a belt every 7 years or 100,000 miles I *think.* Also the trany fluid will need a flush or second gear will be amusing. Its been a while since my NSX days. That said these things are not very expensive to get done, and at that price I would have fun and bite. Good reliable cars. The old 3.0 are a bit sluggish, but can still show up a 348 or older fcar pretty well.
That car, even with the automatic would likely bring more than $24k here. The silver color is pretty rare as I'm sure you know (my personal favorite for the NSX). If the car really is in excellent condition and the mileage is correct, you could have the belt service performed and still have a great deal on the car.
the automatic gearbox is the problem that I am considering now. **assuming the mileage is accurate... Note: the car shop accepts to take this NSX back to Honda for full inspection before I pay my money. (he is this confident that the car is very clean!!) I have been searching for a "manual" model .... but only end up with "abused NSX" or "fully modified NSX".. I really want an "original" car, and this automatic 1992 model is the closest I can find after 3years of search.... it is a big temptation......hmmm.... **I don't know why there are so many automatic NSX (I think 90% of the total sale)....in Hong Kong...
Great price but if you really want the manual, why compromise? Wait a little longer for the right car. Even though it's routinely derided by the Ferrari crowd, the NSX is an engineering marvel and it's a blast to drive. I owned one for 5 years without a single problem. A 6-speed, of course.
oh...here is the photo of the car. my cousin took this photo while the sales check out my current car for trading. http://www.cbworkshop.com/images/NSX.jpg
All automatics from 1991 through present have reduced HP (only 252) as a result of the tranny. Timing belt change intervals are 6 yrs or 90,000 miles, whichever comes first. $24,000 is a very good deal if there are no stories. Pretty interesting given that the 348 has more power than the 3.0L NSX.
