Lotus elise. Great ones for under $40k and ok ones for $30k. Most focused drivers car ive ever driven and ive driven them all. Its not so bad getting in and out with top off either. Since only use it in nice weather its not issue. Obviously its not a daily driver
The real "price" of a car is not what you pay for it. It is the difference between your buy price and your sell price. (if you don't wreck it, etc.) And given that, there are a number of high end cars that could "cost" less than 30K. Ford GT is one that comes to mind. You ain't gonna find one for 30K, of course, but the proper thing to focus on is not purchase price, it is total cost of ownership.
Sales tax could easily consume more than half of that $30k. Plus insurance, tires, other maintenance, etc.
Honda S2000 you can get a decent one in the teens very reliable and lots of fun and one of the best shifting gearboxes on the market.
Nsx and s2000 will be lots of fun and zero maintenance and zero depreciation. .. Sent from my SGH-I747M using Tapatalk 2
Surprised nobody has mentioned the Nismo 350Z. Im not biased because I own one but I suggest it because it really is a bargain. One can be had for less than 30k, has over 300hp stock, has high quality brakes and suspension, can hit over 150mph stock, only around 1600 were made in a 2 year span, and has one of best exhaust sounds from a V6. I love my Z and have always had a good time with it at the track or at shows. More pics can be seen here, Flickr Search: nismo Image Unavailable, Please Login
honda s2000CR...rare, fast, totally bulletproof and, if you fit, everythings just right...despite the stigma of being a "honda", if you can look beyond that, [they have made some pretty good racing engines and gp bikes i hear]..hard to find more fun and quality engineering for the money......just to hit VETEC and run up to 9k is worth the price....also, any car that deletes the softtop & motors, airconditioning, sound system, spare tire [a factory installed X brace takes up the space] track suspension and delivers the car with the gummiest street tires this side of the DOT has to be worth a try.....
I test drove one and was pretty disappointed. It did handle very nicely and had a very nice feeling transmission but it lacked power and presence. If only you could find a Type R nowadays that hasnt been beaten to hell, that would be a bargain.
I had a 2002 tuerbo Porsche that I used as a daily driver. bt chance I remembered my old Rabbit GTI that O loved in the day To remisce I dropped into a VW dealer looking to see a GTI. They still make them but they also have a R model which means Race. it is so fun to drive, quick and agile. You get alot of fun at a good price plus the reliability of a new car. It is my new DD or beater car and I love it. So much storage like asmall suv. A golf race, check them out. Lee
how about a 69' 427 tri-power corvette convertible,im just finishing a restoration on 1 thats all orignal under 100k,and it can only go up in value
I'm going to quote myself. This is a damn Ferrari site. All you supposed Tifosi should be snatching these things up at <$30k.
Don't know if this is a "re-post"...but Fiat Arbath. Get an ECU upgrade and CAI and the thing goes, and sounds great! All for 23-26K. Just as much fun as a 308 and you can actually drive it every day for eff sake.
For less than $30k, a modified 996TT is an amazing car. Classy, but at 530 hp still out guns practically anything you will normally encounter.
i bought a 93 rs america for a DD, and it's fantastic-really fast, really fun...AND ac! i'd second an early NSX in silver, or E30M3, or a Noble is VERY fast and fun, not much on the investment side, or you could get an 88, or 89 lancia delta integrale 16v, which is amazing..a lotus esprit is great, the S1 is the best design, but the worst car, maybe an S2? An alternative to the C5Z would be the 2008-2009 LS3 base C6 Corvette. A bit more power, not as old, and can be had in the high 20s with not a lot of miles.
