Freezing rain blows. It blows more when water works its way in between the door rubber seal and the car frame making "ice glue" so the door won't open. What spray protectant/treat do our resident cold weather Fchat'rs use?

I've been using Lexol Vinylex, to keep rubber protected and conditioned, but it didn't seem to do the trick with ice. Something out there I overlooked? What's your experience ?

I have lived in MI my whole life and didn't know you could prevent this from happening. This may be a long shot, but have you considered Vaseline?

I'd love to hear a good solution.

My daily driver is a Mercedes CL 63, with no B-pillar. The windows must roll down a bit to clear the car door frame, and both the front and rear side windows, too.

A little ice means I can't get into my car!

Silicone o-ring grease spread and buffed in with a rag. Cleaned well first with a decent glass cleaner or car wash soap.

Hah! That misery is behind me
Not a hard problem to solve, but some window/door engineering isn't designed for harsh conditions. .25" of ice makes any car diffucult to enter.

Vaseline... reminds me of a Car Talk episode where as a joke someone spread vaseline over a guy's car windows. Complete mess. As the windows went up and down it pulled it everywhere. They had a good time with that one.
