We are only getting some information and the media seems to always hype things up.

What is the situation really like.....is the problem isolated to Paris and area or all of France?

Last Friday we drove from Switzerland to Paris.

Nothing special, all petrol station where open.
We've left the car in a car park in Paris with full tank, and we will drive back next week.

I hope it will be fine.

If I were you I'd keep an eye on the car, in the UK they are not averse in stealing fuel from parked up cars. In the petrol strikes in the early 2000's, I remember lots of clients and friends having their fuel lines cut and the fuel stolen either in car parks or on their drives. The French are a lot more aggressive and anarchic than Brits, who tend to just accept issues and let them happen
