I bought this 1/24 model in the first photo in Versailles many years ago, can anyone tell me the actual car of which this is model? And then I bought this 1/43 domestically probably 10 years ago, looks like a LSR. Identity? Thanks. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Google is your friend. The new book by Hucke and Kruta "Bugatti - From Milan to Molsheim" (nice book, by the way) makes reference to this. It indicates that Ettore Bugatti planned a record car using a single Royale engine fitted with two T50 superchargers. The chassis was to be a mix of T46 and T50, exposed wheels and a very slim body similar to the Miller 91s that Bugatti had obtained from Leon Duray. Some drawings exist and are reproduced in the above referenced book. A somewhat similar project was proposed by Jean Bugatti, using no less than three T50B engines in a row, narrow body with spatted wheels similar to Frank Lockhart's Beach car. According to Hucke: "Neither of those projects saw the light of day."
