Ebay sent my friend some free listings for the month of May I'm kind of bored with it right now. After driving the 6 speed in traffic for a few months, I miss the automatic. Please convince me to change my mind like every other person who puts their gts for sale and takes it down a day later. LOL!!!!
If you're worried about it yes you can cover it. It only needs to be there for law enforcement. Otherwise it's no ones business.
As there has never been a pic of the NJ title complete VIN, I would guess that it has a Z in it that doesnt match the true VIN of the car. The ad does not state "the VIN on the title matches the VIN of the car". I am not sure what NJDMV are currently for verifying VINS. There was a time when you had to do pencil trace of them on registering but the last few times I have bought cars they have just retitled them off the old title.
Yes it is a euro car, now with 3 vin #'s. Vin on the car is- ZFFPR42B000102602 Vin on "clean" title is- ZFFPR4ZB000102602 (Z instead of 2) Vin on current ebay ad is- ZFFPR42B00102602 (missing a zero so if you search the vin you can't find the history of the car).
It is. Eric was talking about the VIN and eBay. When you list a car in eBay you have to put the vin in and eBay recognizes it as being valid. For euro cars it does not recognize it so... The ad states that eBay does not recognize the vin because it's a euro car. The vin in the ad has a 2 in it not a Z as the cars actual vin is. In my opinion, eBay is not recognizing the vin because it is not an actual vin not because it's a euro car. Anyone interested in this car should compare the vin on the title with the pic of the cars real vin that Carb posted.
Actually the car is a 2. The Z is the title (so it shows clean). Ebay vin is the cars actual vin minus one zero.
Ah, thanks. It's an old fashioned manual. They have 5 speeds, right? Put some original 355 wheels on it and its value would go up $5k instantly. Then you can sell those other wheels separately for extra $. Job done.
I understand it bothers you when people refer to a trans as 6 speed instead of manual or F1. Even if someone doesn't know all 95's are manual, anyone can recognize the gated shifter in the photo.
You are right. I didn't look at the interior photos. I stand by my comments re the wheels. That car would look far better and be worth more with original wheels. It's also obvious that this car was only ever bought to sell on. Not that I could care less. I kind of admire the owner's tenacity and good humour whilst taking flak from all sides.
Why should the ad state that the vin matches the vin on the car? Isn't that implied anytime you purchase a vehicle with a title? As I stated earlier in the thread, perhaps even on the last page directly under the vin number, of course the papers match the car. 100% LOL
Good call, I considered a good set of stockers or 360 wheels. I am pretty sick of the blacked out look, but the car came with black wheels and its hard to find a minty set for a decent price.
Why such hatrid towards this car? Even since before I owned it, it was subjected to the Fchat bashing. Do I come on here bashing your car? Thanks!
The papers and numbers to my car all match. 100%. Ebay will not allow it to be listed. Here is the text right from the top of the listing. Highlighted for your ease in reading comprehension. I am fully aware that the witch hunt here will not end regarding this car. It is actually quite entertaining. Thank you for all the additional web traffic. Will be sure to give a copy of this thread to whomever purchases the vehicle. LOL Image Unavailable, Please Login
I think it's clear that eBay won't accept a euro VIN. That's not really an issue. I'm curious why once again, the VIN is being misrepresented in the add itself. The car is what it is. You've seemed to enjoy it. I think you could stop the "witch hunt" by simply posting the title with a VIN that matches the VIN on the car. For some reason though, you don't seem willing to oblige that simple request. GLWS
