So it's only two spots [full garage] but I have been waiting on this 355 to arrive for some time. I purchased the car out of Toronto, waited 3 weeks for delivery but it went straight to Maranello Motoroworks for Tom to do his magic. That's Tom Peder-Gautier for those of you who don't know.

I bought the car with a known broken valve spring on cylinder #1 and totally expected the worst [splintered and broken] but hoped for the best [snapped, no shards]. And, either way I was going to do a major and whatever else was needed, per Tom, to get it back in shape and top shelf running order. Well, as luck would have it, no shards, clean snap and easy to replace!

This car was in need of some lovin having been sitting outside in Toronto for a couple of months and then in the garage at Maranello Motorworks. I was happy to get it home.

I had the dash completely recovered with new leather and some fantastic carbon fiber pieces from Valenceusa.com added. OMG! This car runs so great now and so much fun! I had never driven a 355 F1 til I got this one, what a rush.

I thought I'd post some pics of the repair for those interested. Tom explained every step to repair as well as all other needed items. I recommend Maranello Motorworks all day long. Also, Sherpa pointed me to this deal and really helped me out with the tasks to complete for international import. Thanks for that leg work, RS!

Thank you and I'd love to meet up with some folks. I haven't seen you guys in some time. I drive the 328 almost every weekend though real early. Us older guys get up with the sun.

@RR, that 430 is really sharp. Saw her in and out up there at MM.

I so dig the 328. It's so different and raw. I don't know that I could just discard her like Sherpa did to his ex. So brutal....

Ha ha. Well, there is that F40 car. I imagine that can fill a hole left by the loss of a 328. :)

I think the 328 is one of the most beautiful Ferraris ever made. I've always loved them.

I don't know of this F40 you speak of? Is that a kit car? Like Fiero 40?

    Anyone going to C&C tomorrow?

Yes, like a Fiero F39. He's added some performance upgrades though so I think it should get some respect. ;)

For the record, I did try to buy back my 328 GTB several times but the new owner refused each time.

And yes, that F40 is nothing more than a kit car. A $1.3M kit car hand made in Maranello but a kit car nonetheless. :)

I'm glad that you're enjoying your new car. I told you it was the deal of the century.
