I believe Mark (audi s4 form asheville) and Rick/trevor (bmw from hickory) will be contacting you as well. They both were ready to sign up. Hopefully this helps.....

I trust both of them and most of the f-chat guys have met them.

 

Well, before I get ahead of myself...how much more participation is going to be required?

 

Fender told me they needed about 10 more people, so spread the word. Well hang on spread the word to people you trust to be on the track with!!!

I know this guy in Bermuda Run who has a 355 spider that should come down, now what was his name? hmmm

 

Talked to the guys at Doc's Garage, George runs a top shop and has done some Ferrari Work, although their specialty is Porche.

He indicated interested, and knows a lot of other folks who may be interested as well.

 

I'll try to round up a couple, would most likely not be Italian though. If that's any problem.

is there any type of schedule available to look at? thinking of coming to ride along but need to know times and what not

also, do they have helmets there to "borrow" like they would at say an autocross or something? thanks, andy

I expect you'll need an SA95 rated helmet -- at the very least. Probably SA2000.

SA95 helmets are still OK at most events. The FCA annual meet in Indianapolis this year requires SA95 or newer, for instance. The SA2005 helmets will be on the market near the end of this year and I suspect SA95s will be on their way out soon after. Prices on 2000s should drop when the SA2005s are out.

Ok ok, I give. I will come out on Friday the 11th for the track day. I got a tournament though that weekend in Columbia SC so I can't stay too long.

 

Gees man, I had no idea you had a S52 powered E30. Can't wait to see that!

 

well, looks like i'm not gonna make it. you'll have fun and someone get video please

 

I won't be racing the E30 BMW but it is a Beast on the track. I don't have much track time though on the car but for Friday I will be a spectator. I have to be all dressed up for a meeting in Columbia SC for the weekend and Friday's events is mostly for Ferraris so I don't want to intrude. The car is in a garage in Kingsport TN at my parents house with the engine out of it and disassembled at the moment. I will be driving the trusty ole Civic which needs new brakes and tires very soon. Maybe I will have that done by next week if I have nothing to do at work.

BTW, weather isn't looking real promising for this event....especially since you've got to have the windows down the entire time.

 

Anybody want my spot? I've already paid for one car, two participants and unless by some miracle I find out my car is fixed today, I have no Fcar to drive. No refunds. I'd hate to see this go to waste. Feel free to PM me if interested.
