It avoided the rear side markers as they swapped the rear light positions (I wish someone had done that to mine). But wow, that third brake light...
Looks great! Tempting, I have always liked these end of old school lux Ferrari's. For the price I would think the drivers seat mechanism covers would be included
Wow, super nice! +1: it's great it avoided the side markers... hopefully this ends up with someone here! Ruben
Do you happen to know the serial number of this car? I have only 2 U.S. based Red/Tan 5 speed 412s on my list, 60359 and 65455 (your former car) and wonder if this would be a new one.
Sorry. I don't know the serial number. My former 412 was metallic red (salmon really) not Rosso corsa like this car. I have seen a couple of red 412s. I think Auctions America sold one at Hilton Head a few years ago and SF Sportscars sold one a fair number of years ago. Both were 5-speeds if I recall correctly. Could be the same car.
Not surprised at the sale price... Huh, that kind of rhymes! Is this beauty now with someone here? Ruben
Looks like this beautiful 5 speed unicorn is up for sale again: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1986-Ferrari-412/333545395557?hash=item4da8dad565:g:FGkAAOSwY3VebGjn The prior listing did not make any mention of CARB legality, but there are now CA plates, which makes it this rare beast even more rare. Is the current owner amongst us? @paulchua - weren’t you looking for one of these? It’s in the Bay Area too! Ruben
It’s not the same car and I’m sure I’m not the only one who got confused until reading the eBay description where a different chassis number was listed. Going forward, it’s a far better practice to look up in this forum the chassis number first. If there is a previous thread, then continue it by adding a new discovery on the same car. If not, then create a new one. But certainly, it is perhaps not in the best interests of either car mentioned within this thread to share one, thread just because they’re the same model/color combo. That being said, it is always interesting to check out the world’s best 412 per the listing for 60359...
Yep, my bad. I did a search for the chassis number and found 60359 listed in this thread but misread that the car at the top of this thread was actually 64701. Ruben
