    Hi all,

Where are the serial numbers for the F50's gearbox and engine located?

Hope someone knowledgeable can help here, preferably with reference photos....

I've seen my fair share of Classiche books and auction listings which show these numbers, but only very close shots--certainly too zoomed in for me to determine the exact location of the numbers on the engine/trans casings. As I've only had the chance to closely inspect a single F50, in person, I know that the community here is likely the best resource available for such a niche question....

Dealers have also told me that these numbers can only be reached when the powertrain is out of the car. Is that true (I presume dealers have access to a borescope as well....)

any and all insight would be greatly appreciated!!
Maybe this would be a good photo set to pull from?

    Interesting first post.
What is the chassis number of the F50 in question?
Happy to share with you the engine and gearbox #.

    Hi Marcel,

    Thank you for your offer.
However, I already know what the numbers are supposed to be on the particular chassis in question--I am merely concerned with where to find them...

Maybe you can help in that regard?
