Thought some of you guys might be interested in the DTM. Went to the beautiful city of Nürnberg on saturday, evening out on the town saturday night and then up early for the races on sunday. Unlike british events where there is always a real ecclectic mix of cars in the parking areas, in Germany its mostly BMW's, Mercs, Audis Porsche etc. but I've included pics of one or two interesing cars, a Carrera GT, an SLR and some new Audi RS4's. Emjoy the pics Cheers Simon

6 Finally one of the DTM race. The race is run on the Reichstaggelände, very impressive setting for a motor race despite its dark history. This wall is the Wall of Champions, they've all hit it at some point coming out of the s's onto one of the straights. Very tight exciting racing. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Simon, thanks for those great pix. I really love seeing those cars race. They're the kind of racecars I really like: the machines derivated from the normal roadgoing cars. Jurgen
Thanks Jurgen. The thing is the DTM cars have absolutely nothing in common with normal road cars unlike the British Touring Car Championship. They are really only a step down from F1 in technical terms.Carbon fibre tub and suspension with a carbon/plastic composite body on top. The engines are 4 litre V8's with just shy of 500 PS. These cars are very light and very very fast. The exhaust are short and exit just after the drivers door....fantastic sound The carrera cup cars are very similar to the road versions.
Simon, ok, so they're more like a look-a-like shell over F1 technology? Coooool, now I like them even more!! And the sound, it must be great to hear one, but hearing them all at the same time must be orgasmic..... But I must admit I've always liked this series, made me look different at those Audis and Mercedes.. Jurgen
