Thank you for the positive comments. We will not get the score sheet for a few weeks but I am not predicting a perfect score just yet. When the car was being transported the rubber molding on the leading edge of the drivers door grabbed the back of the front fender leaving it bent backwards. The molding was brand new and had not taken a set yet but this was not seen by the guy loading so it spent a few days bent backwards in the heat of the truck and there was no correcting it in time for the show. Of course now it works perfectly but come show time it would stick 2 out of 3 times and I'm pretty sure the judges saw it. What can you do but laugh. We were just happy the car did not float away when the rains came.

As we expected we were deducted a half point for the sticky molding but what we were not expecting is that this was the only deduction. As such we managed 99.5 points at the National Meet.

The judging sheet and further explanation is available at:

A big congratulations to you both. Well earned and well deserved. Your patience, skill, and learned knowledge of the car really paid off, bravo.

    Paul, Rob,

Congratulations!!!! We are truly fortunate that you have shared the complete restoration piece by piece, detail by detail with us. You are a true inspiration to the Dino community! If we think back just a few years and what little we knew! You have joined the elite Dino ranks of Matthias and Jon. Matthias which has contributed immensely with his Dino Compendium, his endless expertise shared in regular posts and Jon's "open house" willingness to help out, his resilience, passion and knowledge with his series of Dino restorations beautifully photographed and shared. Paul, Rob, your focus on detail and accuracy is infectious and has benefited all of us!

I love what is going on in the Dino community! The open sharing of knowledge and willingness to help without a financial motive is why I love being a part of it!

Thank you Paul, Rob, Matthias and Jon!

    Freeman

Congratulations! I was happy to loan you bits and pieces for reproduction and be one of the many, many cars you looked at to try to figure out what is legit.

Kudos! You have done a spectacular labour of love, I would not have expected any less...

So now, are you hitting the show circuit? If so, that is going to put a serious damper on driving the .... out of the car :)

    Kind regards, Alberto

Guys thank you so much for the kind words. When we started this process we knew almost nobody in the Dino world. While the desire to own one burned quietly for decades it was a trip to see Jon G. that doused our ambitions with a bucket load of high grade gasoline. From there we bought a car a few months later and had it totally apart shortly after that.

Back then all we knew is that we wanted a Euro 246GT and that was it. We did not know the difference between the series let alone the correct colour or plating finish for anything. Through the generous sharing of information between the community we were able to become a little less ignorant than when we started and are always happy to help a new crop of Dino enthusiasts with their projects.

Now with the car done it is time to drive it, enjoy it, and share it. The car show was fun but the concours show circuit is just not our scene. Maybe a show here or there to pass an afternoon but you can be sure that the real fun is just about to begin.
