Last model I bought was Minolta DiMage X 3 years ago. Need the next camera by this weekend. Preference: $ between $400 to 900. Better than DiMage X photo quality Faster Shutter time Don't want a big camera, something which fits in a pocket is preferred,BUT will consider regular size camera if quality is worth sacrificing the size. Would you give me some advise/recommendations? Checked few sites, but I couldn't get into Consumer Report site!
Must have's: Tilting screen AA batteries Memory card of the adequate format (ie so you can use the larger capacity you have most likely already bought) Add-on possibility (polarizing filter, UV filter, tele lens, wide angle) You may say "oooh, I'm not a pro photographer, I don't need any of that". I have a Sony DSC-W1, and am totally amateur ... the lack of tilt screen is annoying. The small lens makes for a small camera, but damn does it need a tele lens AND wide angle lens ... good thing I can add them. Extended warranty. I personally would go for a larger higher quality cam, such as Sony F828, or Canon G6 or Pro1 or 2. It's been a year, and now I regret going for the smaller cam. Should've bought the G5 back then!!!
Thank you all for advise. Went to Fry's, and picked up Sony Cybershot DSC33 & Casio Exlim EXZ750. Exlim has many optional parts available for the future use. Cybershot is so thin, about 1/2 the size of DiMage I have now, so I couldn't resist its gadgety look! Thanks
