Amazing.... For a "sold out" race, it seems an awful lot of people "wasted" their money as I see a mega amount of empty seats when the cameras accidentally catch a view of them. More fake news.

bummer about the rain. great buzz with POTUS there.

late afternoon is good for prime time-ish viewing but really really bad for the crews....

Well, -that- was a spectacular finish. I hope RN is okay. There's not been a lot said about him yet, and I didn't see him get out of the car.

Horrible crash. The "driver door" area is completely destroyed. Thoughts are with him and his family and hoping for the best.

Prayers for Newman, that was one of the worst hits I've seen in a while.

Corey Lajoie went right through the drivers window. the roof hoop was buckled. It's bad.

Glad there wasn't a fire too. it was about a millisecond from being an inferno.

Jeff Gordon looked like he was going to be sick as they went off air. What did he see that wasn't on TV?

I don't think he saw more than we did. He just noticed what you and the few of us have in that the driver-side roof was buckled from a direct hit (meaning he himself took a direct hit). He knows it's bad.

There's still no solid info. Various tweets saying that he's alive, but nothing further The announcing crew's vibe going off air was eerily similar to 2001. Fingers crossed

I'm just saying that from the booth, they can probably see them tending to Newman.

That was the same type wall impact that killed Earnhardt. The g forces would have been massive.

I hope he’s ok, but that really didn’t look survivable.

Yes, it reminds me of 2001. Media were told to leave pits and black screens used to fans/others could not see.

it wasn't the wall impact, it was the second impact on the A-pillar/roof when LaJoie hit him. roof bars crushed in.
