09 with the fire is back on track

If time permits (3 hr rule), Chip needs to keep Scott in so he can do a simiar move as last year for the win!

...just wondering if a streak of Pironi will rear up in one (or better, both) of the #66/#67 TRGs........;)

    It was around hour #13.
Curious how there's a full course caution per hour.

Not much point for us international folks in trying to follow the race closely. As Hindie says NASCAR doesn't get international sportscar racing at all.

24th caution is out...is this legit or a sign of NASCAR's officiating influence?

no, but they do get the formula right for large fields and close racing. 4 cars on lead lap within seconds because of the caution 22 hours in.

Entertainment for those who like a gladiator style show.

I like a battle of driving skill and varying technology, personally. NASCAR, national, spec racing seems to be a US thing.
Seems odd they'd knock back an offer of free radio coverage. Guess they don't see it as a season opening major event.

I definitely prefer four classes running at the same time. Grand AM start them staggered...not at problem with ALMS but as stated on another forum, there's been no comment about ALMS as "it's the enemy"! I wonder how these GT3 cars would stand up to the FIA GT3 cars? I really want to find a race where the R8 will run - Modeler, let me know if you know where that might be!

Rik certainly has to be proud of his guy Antonio (he and Leo Mansell will be driving the 430 for him this year).

That new Porsche motor is too fast. JPM will need the luck that will be traffic.

True that, or yet another full course caution. Pretty convenient that last one right at pit time...

Flat 6 vs V8 = yep that sucker is fast - I have the same thoughts as you - yes significant but go Bubba Juan! Wonder if GA will penalize the Porsche engined cars?

Great for the #58. I imagine the podium celebration will be a bit teary. Good push by JPM and VERY PROFESSIONAL driving by Scott Dixon in the Ganassi #02.

GT - Way to go TRG and the most awesome team of drivers on the grid for sure.

What a great last couple of hours. I don't think I have been that excited watching sportscars in a long time. Congrats to the Brumos team on a great win.

    Mark

PS: I didn't watch the post race interviews, what was Montoya whining about this time???

Can't remember exactly, just blaming evereything but himself. Part I remember is him saying they were lucky they even got 2nd with that car, so does that mean because he was driving they did better than the car was capable?
