Anyone can tell me how does the temporary tag look like in california for out of state car buyers until you get the permanent plates?

I bought a car in california bringing it to texas. The dealer gave me a small piece of paper, smaller than a napkin, to post on the window.

I am used to a half a sheet of paper showing temporary plate and expiration.

CA now issues the full temporary plates like other states do - the license-plate sized piece of paper that goes on the back of the car. The small piece of paper posted in your windshield, with a generic dealer advertisement plate on the back of the car, was the old system. I believe dealers are required to switch to the new system, but it's been a while since I was doing retail transactions.

    Thanks for your reply.

I saw it on the dmv website but this dealer still gave me the tag slip with no temporary license number.
