Anyone trying to find a correct Boxer stereo and faceplate will know how difficult they are to find. The stereos pop up from time to time but you'll never find a correct faceplate. This is a Pioneer KE-4000 AM/FM cassette deck (visually identical to the 4300) and a correct faceplate. After spending countless hours trying to find a faceplate, we decided to go another route and had one made. We had an original 3-D scanned and then duplicated. After a few prep processes, we then had the graphics laid on. The result is a faceplate that is visually indistinguishable from an original.

The fit is perfect as the photos show and the graphics are crisp and brilliant. The stereo has been tested and is in working order- even the cassette works. All wiring pigtails are there so connecting it is a breeze, provided no one messed with the graphic equalizer wiring when replacing the radio.

Cosmetically it is as clean as you'll find. You can see a slight rub spot on the cassette door below the "PIONEER" text and there are a couple of tiny nicks in the knurls on the perimeter of the knobs. You have to look hard to see the marks.

Why do we have this for sale? After searching for months, maybe even years for a correct stereo and faceplate, the owner of the car finally broke down and paid a lot of money for a radio with no faceplate. Another year or more of searching for a faceplate yielded nothing but we did find another radio with a full, untrimmed stock faceplate so bought that with the intention of trimming the faceplate to the correct size and then lay the correct graphics on. Unfortunately when the stereo arrived, the faceplate had been broken and was unusable. This stereo is not needed as we already had the stereo. We bought it to get the faceplate.

This is a needle in a haystack. Asking price - $5000 OBO.
