I just put this in another thread, but thought I would post to begin a new thread in case there was strong interest on this board.

Bonhams car auction is happening right now in Arizona. You can watch/listen to this auction live at: https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/22205/. You need to complete a simple registration to view the auction.

Within the next half hour or so, among other cars, there will be a 1990 Testarossa, a 1969 Dino and a 1972 Daytona Spider crossing the auction block. A 275GTB/C is selling a little later.

Does anyone know what the estimate for the 275 GTB/C was?

It sold for $9,405,000 including the premium.

But the GTB/C sold and not exactly cheap taking into account the history of the car with it's new body.

And a BBi sold for 324,500USD. Reminds me a bit of 1989/90: Reserves too high for "expensive", but actually common cars, relatively cheap cars with "potential" go up.
But I have been wrong before...

I am watching it on the internet, so I cannot say how real bids below the reserve are.

disproportionate? please explain. was this not a clean example or was the condition suspect? is the boxer just less car than a dino or Daytona? not a real Ferrari? your thoughts?

not surprising for NO Sale or lower prices on average cars... the foreign exchanges took a hit today when the Swiss stopped supporting their currency and let it float... essentially setting the money markets on their ear... throw in the difficulties with low commodity prices, etc the world currency conditions suggest that there will be restraint in all bidding except for the best or most sought after cars... on top of a flat quarter in general car prices

Mods should merge the two separate threads on this topic. The other thread is indicating some of these cars are now marked as sold.

Of course, anyone with Swiss Francs to spend is rubbing their hands with gleeful anticipation of a 20% discount from what they would have paid two days ago!
