Are non-english language threads or sub forums a good idea for the european section?

This was exactly the same thing I was asking myself. I also posted it in the Bonkers thread.

I also posted there that in the 'subforum' almost only in the 'old' Dutch language thread confersations are. Not much in the other threads.

BTW: great Dutch Wolfgang!! ... and probably great Italian; sadly I can't read it ...

Perhaps this is the most democratic way to see if there are more infavour or against the subthreads or subforums...

 

I would either

1. Throw all the other countries/languages into subthreads and keep the Europe section purely in English or

2. Keep the Europe area in English and ban ALL posts in other languages.

I agree that the current set up is a mess.

Hi Wolfgang! Hope you are well my friend. It's been a while.

I have kept silent about this topic. It's very touchy. But what I would like to say is that I do understand what you mean and agree to a certain point. The language threads do seperate us a bit unlike the "old times" at f-chat.

But at the same time I have great pleasure in seeing people with a place for them to chat in their own language and chat about things in common, organize events in their own country etc. As I do with colleagues in the Portugal thread. However, I realize that these language threads limit other members from participating and even understanding. It really is a catch 22.

It really is great to see you on here. I hope you decide to stay and perhaps we can learn to flow with these news ways and move forward in a positive manner. As I have mentionned once or twice before....members like yourself are the reason why I enjoyed and still enjoy this site. Stick around my friend! (oh and...can I see pics of your new Lambo )
