So, is it made by Fuchs? That's their logo.

Nope. The Fuchs Logo is way different. The manufacturer of the Wing is Turnwald in France. I am not sure if it is the same company configuration like in those days.

You can't show us the cover story from the mid '90s and not tell us who won????

    1st - Porsche 993 Turbo
    2nd - Acura NSX
    3rd - Ferrari F355

There was also a Lotus Esprit S4S in 5th and a Dodge Viper in 4th.

Funny, on the Ferrari one of "Lows" they had listed was the "Fifties vintage shifter." Oh how times have changed.

    That was a great issue!

Well actually in my opinion times haven't changed. Manuals are vintage shifting. Lol

Maybe in a way, but certainly today magazines would heap praise upon any sports car that includes a manual transmission, and probably have a meltdown over any Ferrari that brought back the gated shifter.

    Agreed.
But if you want to go fast it's gotta be dual clutch etc...

How much faster would a viper acr been around vir. I think somewhere said it was several seconds. (might have even been 4)

There will always be faster cars, but last time I checked there are plenty of manual transmission cars with over 500-600 horsepower to drive if you want to go fast.

To me, the idea of timing lap times around tracks as if we are professional racing drivers competing for a championship is pretty pointless. Yes, it is proof of what the cars can do, but for 99% of us enthusiasts, cars are for having fun, not setting records.

The 993 Carrera RS Clubsport was included in Best Motoring's 1995 "Super Battle" race, which included competitors such as, yes, a McLaren F1...
