    The 993 was the final air-cooled 911, a classic formula wrapped in iconic and fresh styling. From the massively capable 993 Turbo, to the track variants such as the Carrera RS 3.8 and GT2, this was the swan song for classic 911 motoring.

    All 993 content is welcome here, although I will focus particularly on the special variants with my postings. Feel free to contribute, & please enjoy!

    The famous 993 GT2, initially known simply as the "GT" as can be seen on the engine lid on all cars.

    This car in street-going form was revealed on March 9, 1995 at the Geneva Motor Show alongside the also-new 993 Carrera RS ClubSport and the 993 Turbo. A triple-whammy if you ask me!

    Prices of these cars are well into the millions of dollars these days, well-deserved given the rarity and iconic status of the 993 GT2 as perhaps the ultimate roadgoing turbocharged collector's 911.

    I think this is exactly what Porsche had in mind when they developed their all-wheel drive system from the 959, to the 964, through to the 993. :)

    C4S is a very cool car, Turbo chassis with the fantastic sound profile of a normally-aspirated 993!

    These are fantastic cars.

    The LSA rear suspension corrects the torsion bar setup of earlier cars, but still retains the sound and smell of the original, including the road-in-your-lap visibility. It’s such a practical layout too. 2+2 in such a small space.

    It’s the right mix of old school with modern technology.

    Mine has FisterD stage 2 mufflers and a 996 CPZ 3-spoke steering wheel.

    Yes, it's lucky that we were gifted with an air-cooled 911 from the factory that included so many modern updates while maintaining the important bits of the classic formula.

    Say hello to the Carrera RS 3.8, a continuation of the idea first set forth by the legendary Carrera RS 2.7 and continued by the Type 964 Carrera RS.

    This car did away with the "Touring" specification optional on the classic 2.7 RS and 964 generation cars, and simplified to only two models: standard and Clubsport. The standard car was optioned similarly to a standard / "Leichtbau" 964 RS, but items like normal sport seats and an airbag steering wheel could be optioned back in if desired for the driver wanting a more street-oriented experience. The ClubSport was similar to the M003 Competition (N/GT) 964 RS, with an interior totally stripped of unnecessary carpeting and other niceties, and it also added a larger rear wing and front spoiler. This aero package was optionally available as part of a Clubsport package on the standard car, not to be confused with the actual "Clubsport" model.

    Hello, this is my GT track toy.

    Not 100% original, but a legitimate GT chassis with EVO bits.
    RS tuning engine with larger intercooler.

    I use it also for long trips across Europe going to nice tracks: Red Bull Ring, Paul Richard .. Etc...

    911 Cup 3.8, for use in the Porsche Supercup series. 1994-1997 models produced, 1995+ cars received aero seen here and other parts from the Carrera RS. Just over 200 units produced.
