Some real talent there. We have few very very talented guys in this forum. It was said here that the company(s) do follow what's going on here. Hope you guys get your chance to shine .
Thank you! I was kinda of in the same boat as the car had to be a 2023 given that the 76 represents the 76 year of Ferrari. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Given that 2023 was the 76 year of Ferrari and the fact that I was born in 76. I had to tie it in. I also own the correct license place that will be going on it too. Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
i knew about Ferrari, and presumed your personal production year was 1976 ( good year it was). Just couldn't resist
Considering you were produced in 1976 I assume you emit carbon without GPF, coordinate using a gated manual, are always in RACE mode and stop at the end of the day without ABS[emoji4] Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
And the stench of fuel is high as I run on a carburetor…… no electronic fuel injection at all! Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
I was told today by an automotive broker that the rumoured 812 replacement ( which actually may not at all be the spiritual successor to the 812 in his words “there will be no next 812”) will be based on a v8 hybrid. Based off conversations had about a week ago with a dealer.,again just relating what I heard from a second source that is of the opinion that this car will not launch with a V12. It’s a possibility that down the road there may be a v12 variant in limited numbers. Due to regulations for ferrari to obtain a derogation to continue with the v12 they can only do so with very limited numbers and as we know the purosangue, 812 coupe, gts, comp and comp A will remain in production until 2025/26.. Let’s think about what that car will be : the roma spider ( v8 hybrid , front GT) replaced the portfofino M which has been discontinued. I suspect the last orders of the roma coupe will be taken when F167 gets released and production run alongside F167 which will become the new sports front engine GT. So it isn’t even clear whether F167 in that context is a replacement of the 812 at all or a sportier version of the roma coupe…. I remember another active member in this thread JTSX30 ( can’t fully recall his pseudo my apologies if I mispelled) was of the opinion there will be no 812 replacement and Ferrari wasn’t working on such a car most likely… imo as well as explained above it seems increasingly likely. That means the 812 Comp will be the end of the line.
Your sources sound like they might be Maranello agents spreading fake news. There's been no rumors of it being V8 hybrid, neither any F167 mules with a V8 hybrid powertrain.
I can’t tell to be honest whether or not it’s agents spreading fake news one source got that from a dealer the other source from someone unrelated to the factory both pretty determined that the “next 812” ( whether or not successor to the 812) won’t be launched with a V12. The more I think about it the more my explanation above sounds plausible in my eyes. Remember whatever V12 engine showcased on the roma mule ( being supposedly the 812 replacement that the media are talking about) can very well be the v12 variant launched down the road in very limited numbers or the test base for another limited series v12 who knows?
Haha but isn’t that what we’re here for? Sharing honestly the latest information we have whether true or not time only will tell. Best I myself can do is being transparent and share what I heard ( and think) with the group.
By the way the two sources I heard that from aren’t friend but in the automotive business unrelated to the factory with no direct incentive to spread any particular rumours. I’m sure some people here with connexions can figure it out or we will all discover in due course either way i’m excited
I’ve always thought how exactly are they going to make enough v12 engines with the purosangue taking the lion’s share and they still have a bunch of 812 variants and Daytona sp3 to build. Just looking at this from a pure numbers perspective.
I agree. And they gonna pump tons of the purosangue and aren’t done with the 812 production, coupe, gts and comp + sp3 still being made…. And the fact the roma spider replaced the discontinued portofino M rings a bell and tells me the roma coupe will soon be discontinued as well when that supposed / rumoured 812 replacement gets announced
To be even more extreme one of those two sources actually is of the opinion that there is no 812 replacement - ie whatever that car is or replaces he doesn’t consider the successor of the 812. And in his eyes the Competizione is the end of the line . There may be a few more V12 but will all be in very limited numbers ( and i let you guess at what prices) due to regulatory changes
If it's true that (a) there's a limit to the number of V12s Ferrari can produce, and (b) they choose to put them in an SUV - oh, what has the world come to?
If you think about it the suv they call it a “sports car”…isn’t that what they called the 812SF? They chose to do that imo cause they know there will be a lot more demand for the v12 in that form than in a 2 seater front engine gt… more money they’re making thid way simple as that
NOT the way it works. Ferrari has already stated that they were surprised at the success of their SUV but to keep the model exclusive they were maintaining their cap on production of this model. When introduced as a V12 it was restricted to TWENTY percent of production.
Could be a good business decision. Doesn't mean I'd like it. For my part, I'm mystified by the appeal of a fast SUV. If you need to lug stuff around, I get why a truck or an SUV can make sense. But if you want something fast, why would you want to sit three feet off the ground? And if you want something fast with four seats and a useful trunk, what exactly was wrong with the FF/Lusso concept? But hey, to each his own. I may not like the idea of a Ferrari SUV, but I can live with it...unless it deprives us of a V12 GT car. Say it ain't so!
Good, I hope that's right (some of these other comments seem to suggest that they won't be able to make a V12 GT car because the PS would use up all the V12 capacity). I'd be pretty devastated if the PS was the only production V12.
No disrespect but both the pista and 812 gts were meant to be limited production runs … gts are still being pumped till now and thousands of each were / are made
The v12 suv us and will be a cash cow but remember the 812 coupe, gts , comp, comp A and sp3 are still in production so they are not choosing to put them just im the suv but also in continuing the production of the various 812 variants and sp3
Good point. I'm cool with that, just hope it isn't the end of the line!!! One 812 owner out there will benefit though, because I'll probably buy one it's the last of its kind.
